I was scrolling through some articles on longform.org (seriously, what else should I be doing with my free time right now? Reliving our bowl performance? Ugh.) and ran across this article on the bama fan teabagging incident. Several people had asked about it on various posts today, so here it is:

Being in a all male mos in the Army this happened all the time and it is one of the more tame things that happen. I would be mad though if I were this guy then I would probably just laugh about it and just be happy the guy did not have herpes when he let his bubble gum touch his face. If we can not teabag each other whats the point in being an American

Thanks! There are certainly more impressive specimens in the world, but I just try to do the best I can with what I've been given.
I approve of your Psych reference.

That the gump fan idiot did it knowing full well he was on camera is damning enough.

It's all about intent. Harmless joking around in a platoon is one thing. Doing it in your 30s to a passed out college kid is assault brotha.

Dude has no excuse whatsoever for what he did.
Hopefully, he met some guys in prison who think along the same lines as he did.

At least two lives were severely affected by that incident in a negative way, and that's not even considering the teabagger's wife and kid.

Read the article. One of those lives affected is the victim...he was so humiliated he ended up dropping out of school.
It's a real shame that this happened, and a good lesson on why your actions, drunk or sober, can be devastating.

This has been one hell of a "troll Bama fans" day.

???
I guess I used too many syllables. I'll try again:
Teabagger bad. Very bad. Hurt people.

No shite. I'm just glad the Bama fan suffered something rather than the whole thing just being chalked up to being drunk. That kid shouldn't have to be the only one to suffer.

FWIW, I'm absolutely not trolling, found the article , remembered questions about the incident, too lazy to go find the original questions, created post with link.
I certainly don't judge all Bama fans by the extremists.......although the outliers are entertaining!

Jesus that was hard to read, somebody just got out of journalism school.
No winners in this story that I can see. It certainly was not a harmles prank, but, was it a sex crime. As an attorney I can tell you it fits the elements of sex crime but registry as a sex offender is a brand that will ruin that mans life and maybe his children. None of that is going to help the victim.
Just a shame ther was no middle ground here.

Seems as though the only thing that made the gump fan pull out his unit and commit the crime was his posse cheering him on...
That indict's both him and the gump posse equally.
Trash will be trash...
