Were any of y'all hoping that if Boom leaves next year he would have been a top choice? Or had that ship sailed, as far as, strong ever coming back.

If it was an option at all they should have already done it.
Maybe it's just the ESPN hype getting to me, but Strong seems like a really great hire for TX

I liked Charlie Strong when he was here at UF, but I didn't want him to be our head coach. Bobby Petrino is who I wanted when it was clear Muschamp was going to be fired. But then he didn't get fired and I was bummed.
After Louisville beat Florida in the Sugar Bowl, Strong reportedly said something to the effect of "that's what they get for not hiring me." I don't know if that's true or not.

I think he was a great hire for ut- I wanted him in our last hire.

UF isn't ready for Strong as a hc for the same reason he wouldn't be the hc at LSU or a school like Bama.

He's not coming back to Florida. He's pissed he wasn't hired after Urban and he has a point. Strong got his masters degree at UF and was here for more than 7 years. Foley might have outsmarted himself when looking for Urb's replacement.

What? UF isn't really a "southern" fan base if that's what you mean.
