"The SEC acts as if it invented genius coaches. And yet its icon, Saban, made mistakes in the Iron Bowl you wouldn't see in Beverly Hills Pop Warner. Just to jog your memory, he passed up a 30-yard field goal that would've iced the game, then went for a 57-yard field goal that was returned half a mile because he forgot to put anybody on the kicking team who could run the 40 in under an afternoon. Engrave that on your statue."

FSU is going to throttle the Aubies this year

They have a bad defense...and will get exposed

FSU is a complete team...NFL talent all over the field, depth, well coached, mobile and confident QB=spells disaster for the Aubies..

IF FSU doesn't choke or turn it over, this game won't be close...

I'm begging you, Famous Jameis. If you love college football, you'll do this. If Meryl Streep wins every Best Actress, people stop watching the Oscars, right?

LSU head coach Les Miles eats the exact same dinner every night -- grilled fish with steamed vegetables. Every. Single. Night.

Me, I'm a dog who gets nothing but kibbles and no bits. I ache for a little variety. Is it too much to want to eat something new besides my words?

In 50 years of observation, my take is that most coaches are not very smart...in fact, they are usually bull-headed and slow to adapt...some more so than others...but because fans are not that much smarter either, the band plays on until catastrophe hits them in the face...then they scream for the coaches head on a platter...it's all hard-wired in...lol...but I'd put Saban in the 75%tile as college goes because at least he often adapts quicker than the majority...but, no, he is no rocket scientist...no comment on the locals...lol...trying to stay positive on LSU, though it's not always easy...lol

Couldn't agree more... but that's what I was thinking with Georgia... Bama... and Missouri (with their D)... My mother's family went to Bama. My Dad's went to Auburn and I escaped to BR as the black sheep of the family... So I learned to hate Bama and Auburn at a young age.

Phil2012, spot on take. But Saban's understanding of the value of the process reminds me of John Wooden in a way, who I think you'd agree is one of the 2 or 3 best coaches in anything ever, right? Similar, in that Saban spends so much time on the details. Wizard used to spend 2 hours the first day of practice on shoes and socks... SHOES and SOCKS???!!! Great insight, thanks.

BowDownToLSU... Is that true about Miles' meals? How can you eat that and still be overweight? Does he eat cheeseburgers for breakfast?

Saban, greatest recruiter in history of college football, yet a very average coach. I've been saying this for years.

I'm pretty sure that their bad defense was exposed 13 times already.

I agree with this 100%. His team is usually more talented and deeper than your team, but he has been out schemed and out coached on numerous occasions.

RE: Saban getting out-schemed... I think you guys are right. Hadn't thought of it that way... Probably why he got creamed in the NFL. Just remembered what a friend said who played for Shula and Saban (during change) at Bama when asked what was the biggest difference between the two. He said, "One thing... Saban makes us lift 1000x more weight..." Not much scheme in that is there?

Top Tim from Houston, I'm going to do something special for you as a black sheep...he's a poem...

Black sheep have a way of leaving the foal
But that's not because they are trying to be bold
But rather they are searching for the truth
As opposed to being vile, sinful, or merely uncouth

Yes, the focus is on the word Heresy
Because I'm hoping that we can all finally see
That humans were meant to be more than sheeple
But rather critically thinking & sentient people

Like the genius, that must be what they are
It's like being a planet, or being a star
They have little to say about the path they beat
They merely seek what they are meant to seek

But many are happy grazing among the sheeple
They make no waves, not even a ripple
They make no problems and stay out of trouble
Then one day their world goes pop, & with it their bubble

But don't let it be said I told you so
Because I too have my troubles & and a long way to go
Before reaching perfection of my own persona
Much less deliverance into a state of Nirvana

"Heresy"

Smarter than a conference that has Stanford, UCLA and Cal? Bet me a first-year Google salary on that?

Right. It's the football players that started and worked for Google!
