At least in the first half. I know things started to come together in the second half, but do y'all think we came out uninspired?

In the first half, absolutely. You also have to wonder if we were unmotivated during conditioning for the bowl game because it wasn't for the title. If they approached things half arse in conditioning that could have bitten them in the arse during the game.

Not really. But I do think Oklahoma was playing (and coaching) with a big arse chip on their shoulder for being "disrespected" by the media, while Alabama was treating it like another game. Not really unispired or unmotivated, but certainly not matching the kind of intensity Oklahoma brought.

I was hating all of the talk about Oklahoma not having a chance in this game. People were acting as if Oklahoma is some scrub team without blue chip talent. Oklahoma played like they had something to prove and they did it.

Oklahoma's intensity far surpassed Bama's and they beat Bama because of it.

If you looked at the sidelines they had players jumping up and down and getting into it. Our guys looked lackadaisical.

I think this was true too. I had a slight uneasy feeling about this game. I was the same one I got before Auburn. I knew it wasn't going to be a blowout.

No think we just got our butts whipped. Who doesn't want to come out a winner in BCS bowl. This wasn't the outback or some crap bowl it was a BCS game against a top 15 opponent with a big name. Preparation may have sucked or maybe we just were not that good this year. The team will get better next year and I expect Bama will be in the playoffs assuming we beat Florida, LSU and Auburn.

Saban's philosophy just doesn't seem to work on the guys when there is nothing to play for. We don't play well as the underdogs nor do we get up to play the spoiler. Which means as long as we make the playoff every year we should actually excel in the new format. Playing in the Sugar might mean more if the win gets us in the Title game.

Somewhat but we've lost our mental edge. We used to have a lot of hunger and confidence. Our philosophy was MTAQ. Sadly, we didn't see any of that this year. We got rattled early in every game we played against every decent team decent team...sans LSU.

I think you're right, and if this continues then I'm scared for the future.

But hopefully these two losses are a wakeup call for both the team and the fans, and next year they're will be more asses in seats.

The fact that we came out against AU, a team that we beat 49-0 the year before, and played so scared is beyond me. A&M came out of the gate fired up and got up on us 14 points when we were barely off the bus. OU wasn't phased by an early INT yet our early turnovers seemed to destroy our confidence.

It doesn't make sense when you look at what Saban stresses to the players. We'd play a "good" game against A&M and lay an egg against Colorado State. We play lights out against LSU but have a huge hangover against MSU. Meanwhile, AU just gained more and more confidence as the year went on. No mental hangovers. It's frustrating.

every year we get better as the season goes despite a possible late loss. This year we ne ver seemed to improve. Outside of the OL improving some after the VT game, we never improved. If you look t Auburn they improved every week.

Saban is a bad gameday coach. It's the reason he has that cornflake Elko try and motivate them. I hated watching them this year because you never knew what team was going to show up.

Saban should seriously be embarrassed about what happened, especially after his bullshite posturing over his raise. He looks like a fool.

Like it was said on the radio this morning, to paraphrase : Bama played just good enough, but not their best.

Referenced how DAndrew White was looking up at the jumbotron not trying his best, but just enough to out run one player, only to be tackled by another, costing us a touchdown.

On that first drive Alabama came out firing on all cylinders. The rest of it reminded me of 99 Orange Bowl until the scoop and score.

I don't think White saw that guy, if he was looking at the jumbotron he would have saw him. I thought the dude was about to strip the ball, cause White had no idea he was there.
