The first one I personally remember was Monty Means, but I'm almost certain there was one in the 80s under Joe Mo who I am forgetting.

Who are some of the others?

Ace Sanders
Captain Munnerlynn
Emanuel Cook
Jonathan Joseph
Alshon Jefferey
Marcus Lattimore
Stephon Gilmore
Jared Cook
Tori Gurley
Clifton Geathers
Sydney Rice
Ko Simpson
... and I guess we could count Weslye Saunders

I'm forgetting some - from the earlier years.

Eta: Someone departed after his RSo season, a WR, back in the 80s. He was from the coast, Myrtle Beach maybe, and I cannot remember his name.

Also, did Marcus Robinson leave early? I can't remember.

nm. I thought Dunta did, but he didn't

You could count Emmanuel Cook.

No, but he was hurt for most of his Sr Season. He still was drafted in the 4th by daa Bears.

Just a fun stat from the above link

31 SC players have been drafted since Spurrier got here. (8 Seasons)

That's as many that were drafted b/w 1989-2004. (15 seasons)

Also, the 13 players we had drafted in the last 2 classes is the most players we've ever had drafted in a 2 year span.

Cool link - thanks! But it is missing the guys who left early who were taken as free agents, and we've had a few of those. But it was interesting nonetheless. I book marked that bad boy for future reference.

Is that counting the ones who will be drafted this year?

Let's say ...

Clowney, Quarles, Hampton and Ellington all leave early and are drafted.

Plus Legree, Patrick, Sutton and maybe Shaw are drafted.

That's seven or eight more. That's pretty impressive. It says a lot.

That's for the '11 and '12 draft. 7 were drafted in '12 and 6 were drafted in '11.

Of the guys for this year, I see getting drafted (at this point in time.)

Clowney
Quarles
Hampton
Legree
Shaw

I think that Ellington will also get drafted late if he goes and IF he gets a Combine invite. No invite, little chance.

Sutton: I don't see him getting a Combine invite and I don't see him playing in the NFL. The same with Partick. Hopefully I'm wrong and they all get a Combine invite or get drafted.

This is why people don't understand our success sometimes. Other teams' fans think when the Lattimore's and Jeffery's of the world leave our team the winning will just stop. But it hasn't because we have way more depth than anyone is going to give us credit for. Why?

1) Because our recruiting classes are never highly ranked and people put a lot of stock in those recruiting services
2) We're SC. And because we're SC they just assume that we'll never have as much talent as everyone else.

Yep, most of those guys on SCRooster's list were 2 or 3 star guys coming out of HS.

Another fun fact:

The 13 USC Players drafted in '11&'12 were more than have ever been drafted by clem5on in any consecutive 2 year period. (They can't count the '83 season, b/c that's when the NFL Draft had 12 Rounds.)
