Jesus, I think these FSU fans are as bad as some gumps.

FSU; To beat Auburn

Here's a few quotes for those of you too lazy to click and sign up with scout. (I only signed up to see what FSU was saying about the game)

quote:

To beat Auburn Put 8 or 9 guys in box and hit the QB every play . Don't let them go the whole game throwing 10 times . That's how they have won . SEC Egos not wanting to change there style . Play them like a old High school team in the 70s

SemperAuburn wrote: Lol I dare ya to put 8 or 9 in the box.

2xChampsFSU wrote: Why? You think your receivers are better than the FSU corners and secondary?

quote:

Please keep using the Alabama comparison. All of you SEC idiots who can't seem to understand that maybe Alabama wasn't the best defense you have played all season, I know it's a hard concept to grasp since FSU is a little old ACC team and all but spare be the blinders BS too. Obviously, I wasn't doing the math because loading the box is an option that FSU has. If you think your WRs can compete in one on one, you are wrong. Marshall doesn't have the smarts or the arm to beat FSU in the air. I mean, we all get lucky, Georgia. I'd ban ya...but I have a feeling you will just ban yourself after the 6th.

Came back to Pensacola for a week ... It's amazing how many more FSU fans there are than usual. Load the box is their only suggestion, and that's all they'll need. Oh , and they best Clemson.

8-9 in the box. Play assignment football. Easy to stop.

It's just a high school offense.

If I was going to try to stop this Auburn offense that I have seen play this year, I would put 8 in the box including a shadow for Marshall. I would essentially tell the shadow that every time Auburn runs the ball, put Marshall on his back if he has the ball or not. They do have pretty awesome corners so man to man would be in their favor probably 60% of the time but that other 40% will bite their arse. But then I am taking a week off this week redoing my kitchen floors and not a high profile DC either.

FSU has one of the (if not the) best secondaries in football... if there's one team in the country that could possibly get away with it, it's FSU. Bama's weakness on D was corner/secondary play. Jones was abused all game long, and so was jarrick williams at safety.

That's the way I would attack us if I were their DC, but to think that that's all they have to do is laughable. If you put 8-9 in the box and lock up man on the outside you are leaving your high safety and OLB's out to dry. It's like they've forgotten that we spread the field which makes it tougher to load the box.

How do you know that FSU has the best secondary in football? Did they play a Heisman winner that today is being heralded as the nations best player even if he didn't repeat the Heisman win? Two time National Champions? Best QB in SEC history when it comes to yards thrown? And win all of those?

How do we know anything about FSU? I mean we can just go on pure stats but if you do that, Alabama and Missouri WERE pretty darn good in stats til they faced us.

I'm sure Gus has a plan for it.

because they led the nation in pass defense, passer rating, and INTs... and they have NFL prospects.

this isn't that difficult to see... but every discussion seems to go back to schedule. FSU faced really one good passing team all year -- Taj Boyd and Clemson.... Miami and Duke a solid, but nothing special.

Don't get too homer on us bro. FSU has a ton of talent and are well coached. This will be a tough matchup with talent across the board at FSU.

Yes they haven't faced a team as good as ours, and they haven't had to play 4 quarters in a tough game.

I just don't think we need to be offended so easily by talking heads and opposing fans. I like when our team is counted out and they go out and prove them wrong.

Auburn had 97 yards passing againts Alabama... I seem more against FSU... (11 of 16 with 2 TD)

Load the box works great when you

1. Know where the ball is going. With Gus, thats difficult at best.

2. dont let the ball carrier get to the second level. If they do, its ON.

I seriously hope FSU does this. Auburn will arse rape them.

if marshall can do this with no turnovers, then I like our chances.

I think we're going to score on them... somewhere in the 28-38 range. We will move the ball and have success... the question is can we stop them?

That's really been the sticking point in this matchup.

We've faced offense happy teams, got burnt, only to make crucial stops when needed. Don't know if Auburn will have that opportunity against FSU.

If Auburn can rattle Jameis without blitzing, and make the WRs work, we have a chance. He will make mistakes. Just have to capitalize off of them.

Who is #1 in the country in INTs when playing FBS teams with a winning record? VaTech. But who is #2? South Carolina.

Because it is pertinent. They are an SEC team with an ACC schedule. They're not ten feet tall and bullet proof.

Miami is anything but solid.

Clemson is a good passing team, but against winning FBS opponents they drop to 14th behind UGA, A&M 5th behind 4th FSU and Washington St that we played.

it is the most important matchup of the game... FSU's OL has given up sacks and TFLs this year. It's a matchup we can win... just gotta do it.

For reference in ACC play FSU is 87th in the nation in sacks allowed. 2.23 per game.

For reference Auburn is 18th with 1.23 sacks allowed per game.

I think if you put Missouri in the ACC and they had FSU's schedule, James Franklin would not have gotten hurt and won the Heisman and they'd be headed to the BCS NCG.

I see a lot of similarities between the two. NOTE: I am not saying becasue we beat Missouri once that we'd beat them every time, but I think they are probably the same.

FSU does not equal the New England Patriots in their prime plus spy gate. The lofty place some are lifting them to is getting rather silly.
