Why call their son "baby" to begin with?

My mother still tries to call me pumpkin and talk baby ish to me. needles to say I don't answer her calls and enjoy living 565 miles away from her. When I was 23 at my little brothers graduation, she grabbed and tried to hold my hand in front of his entire senior class.

I have heard fathers call their sons "honey". At any age, that weirds me out. I saw it recently on some reality show.

I'll prob keep the Corps in my veins and refer to my son as "girl" until he's at least 50.

How dare she try to show you affection in front of people you don't know and couldn't care less about?!!!

I knew a guy growing up whose father called him "baby" or "honey" till he was around 16 or so. Kid turned out to be really dependent on parents and very strange. Always thought it was so weird.

My dad calls me Slug to this day. I call him fat. My wife grew up without brothers, and thinks we are horrible to each other.

Grown men that call their fathers "daddy" is worse.

My dad has called me numb nuts or rat's arse since I was 5, he doesn't ever use my real name.
