I remember why having David Cutcliffe was so frustrating now

The guy could never hold a lead. Anytime he had a lead of 3 touchdowns or more, he got conservative and started trying to run the clock out.

We were up 43-17 going into the 4th quarter against South Carolina Eli's senior year and we only won 43-40.

The only reason we won is because South Carolina ran out of time.

At what point did he go conservative tonight? They just threw a pick 6 with the lead.

He's not NEARLY as conservative as he used to be but he kept running the damn read option when A&M had obviously figured it out.

That PI is what killed them. If that doesn't happen Duke could well have moved on down for the win. aTm got lucky as frick tonight.

Nah, they have very little depth and it showed. To aTm's credit they made adjustments and made some crucial stops.

They have little depth because he's at Duke and because he's not a good recruiter

Dude, I am guessing he is a pretty good evaluator of talent considering his record at Duke. One really can't hope to out recruit the rest of the ACC and SEC in their main recruiting territories. No one not paying is going to do that.

He also lost a lot of big games. He won the Cotton Bowl and the Auburn game. Every other big game, he lost.

I was a lad of 13 at that game. My heart was crushed but also saw the greatest quarterback battle of all-time.

cutcliffe was throwing the ball late in the game when he should have been running it. They weren't conservative at all.
