As opposed to any single SEC team, FSU would appear to likely be a fixture in the 4 team playoffs for a while. Reasons:

1. The ACC is crap. They should win the next 4-5 ACC titles in a row without much difficulty. I would be surprised if they did not.

2. Due to their recruiting and national brand, they will generally get the benefit of the doubt, similar to a top SEC team by the comittee if/when it comes up. They are going to continue to be viewed as one of the most talented teams in the country for a while which will help in that situation and also with a high preseason ranking.

In conclusion, I think FSU is more likely to be in the playoff for the foreseeable future than any other team and also the team most likely to win one or more BCS titles for a while (just not this year).

Meh, after Winston is gone, i can easily see them slipping back to losing 2-3 games a year.

No one in the ACC is worth a damn though. Going to be tough for them to lose even if they want to. Clemson is about it. Florida is terrible right now but they could turn it around. OSU is the only team with a comparably easy path but they won't get the benefit of the doubt like Fsu until the big ten is respectable again.

FSU is a Chris Rix or EJ Manuel away from being the long-time underachievers we come to know and love.

No team is assured of anything moving forward. Who'd of thought Kyle Wright, a 5 star QB, would help destroy what looked like a sure thing In Miami?

After Winston leaves following next season, his successor will have as much to do with FSU hanging around as anything, IMO.

The ACC has good programs just like the other non-SEC conferences. Everything goes in cycles. Clemson was a good team. FSU is legit.

So a school that hasn't accomplished squat in a long time is going to win multiple NCs in the near future? FSU isn't Alabama brah.

FSU has been a hell of a lot better than bama over the past 30 years. Not too mention bama competed in one title game since Bryant until saban got there.

FSU has a good shot at becoming the perceived top program in college football over the next 5 years or so. Especially if they win next week.

Let's not forget that they usually find ways to lose a few games when everyone thinks they will go undefeated. Give it time.

they are most definately in a good position due to the rarity of stiff competition in the acc. but miami, vatech and clemson are pretty good teams.

I wouldn't necessarily consider the ACC a better football conference than the Big10

The program was in bad shape when Jimbo took over. He has completely overhauled everything. That + the influx of QB talent for the next 4-5 years will make us a force for a while.

We use to have a shitload of talent and poor coaching. We now have great coaching and a shitload of talent.

Clemson played two decent teams this year and lost to them both.

Georgia was a top 10-15 team at the beginning of the year. And yall needed a prayer to beat them at the end of the year.

That + the cakewalk of a conference schedule and UF falling flat forward will make you a force for a while.

Happy New Year!

This might also be the reason they could get left out. They lose one game and they could be out of the playoff even as ACC champs unless that conference improves.

One loss SEC, one loss Big 12, one loss Pac 12, one loss Big 10, one loss ACC. ACC could be on the outside looking in.

I agree that they are one of the likely teams to be consistently in the conversation though.
