I came across this amazingly insightful post on /r/nfl earlier and thought I should post it here.

LINK

Check that link out. He explains why Eddie is doing so well and why Trent is struggling. This guy works for NFL network.

Really interesting stuff and I think the points he makes are very valid.

I was gonna post this on the rant but I honestly was hoping to have more of an actually discussion as opposed to "lol bama players suck in the nfl"

Any thoughts?

Didn't we just switch to zone blocking this season?

Interesting read. Thank you for posting. I thimk that Trent will be a good back in due time. He just has some kinks he needs to work out.

By the way, how is A'Shawn doing?

I agree. I just think it's funny how short everyones memories were....As someone who is really in to fantasy football I remember so vividly how much of a stud everyone thought Trent was gonna be for the next 10 years. According to pretty much everyone he was an athletic freak of nature and was gonna succeed no matter what team he was on. He really didnt have that bad of a rookie season playing injured on the freaking Browns.

Now that he is struggling....Everyone knew all along that he sucks and doesnt have the vision.

I can just see his situation sort of playing out like Reggie Bush. Comes into the league and just cant really figure it out mentally...Changes teams and learns and gets comfortable in the system (key) and then finally figures it out and shows what he is capable of. But not before he struggles for a while...

I feel that once he can go out there and just react as opposed to thinking about where to hit the hole he can go out there and beast like we are used to seeing. But he has certainly been struggling as of lately

Trent has all the talent and mindset to be a great back. The Colts and Browns have ran him like he's a human bulldozer so far though. I haven't gotten to watch him much since he was traded to the Colts but it seems that they run different blocking schemes for him and Donald Brown. Trent gets chopped down right when he takes the handoff while Brown has holes to run through.

I sure do hope he can get it going soon though. He's to fun to watch in the open field and too much of a talent to have the bust label associated with him.

What Trey said. He just plows into his linemans arse. Doesn't wait for holes. He did it at Bama too

I think it's the opposite problem. Often he would stand at the line of scrimmage pushing aside tackler after tackler and never getting north and south

Smart move, the rant has turned into the Bunker lite these days talking more about BS than actual football related posts...

Also the link was very informative. I was wondering about Ingram's lack of success but then realized he atcually has to be on the field to even have a chance.

Edwin Baker has a higher YPC with the Browns than Trent did. Same line. Baker doesnt dance, he hits the hole and gets what he can get.

Unless the knee injuries did more damage than we thought, or unless he DID put on a lot of weight, he is fast. We've got numbers for that.

But his vision is straight shite.

Nope. The game analysts would have you think that, but we've been running a ZBS.

I honestly don't think Trent will ever be a solid RB in the league. He's just not very good at the next level.

He was better for the browns. That's all I care about.
