I especially like this gem:

quote:

The SEC Rant bans people for Bonfire jokes and it's not even an Aggie site.
Of course, the mods are known there and they don't have a payment structure for posting immunity.

Very uninformed and absolutely wrong. Take the day off---Staff

Ouch. I bet Chin Pubes punched a hole in his mother's wall when he read that.

ETA: I remember figuring out who Harry Lime was during the summer but have forgotten now, reveal yourself.

Not sure it is all just stars but who the staff knows and likes. probably the same at most sites. Funny post about Notre Dame and Mantei Teo's invisible girlfriend got whacked just for being up the same day as the JFF autograph scandal broke. Post was funny, but poster was SOL that day.

The old rivalry board was fun. The zoo during conference realignment was fun. Trying to beat a Leach-era Tech with mirrors because the team couldn't was fun.

But today it is a bipolar mix of Mad Max and church.

That's the last time I truly enjoyed myself over there on a regular basis.

Me too. So much me too.

Texags will never again match those epic threads where myself and others would sell the benefits of the SEC brand to left-brained engineers that only cared about playing Texas.

I also loved crushing sip trolls about how the LHN WAS really a bad thing and wasn't just A&M wetting the bed. That butthurt was so great it carried onto other forums.

Geez. Memories....

I was at Nathan's (Scott's) funeral, following the collapse.
Reading the quote in that thread caught me completely off-guard just now.
People are hideous.

Who are the TexAgs mods? It isn't just like Billy and Gabe, right?

There are several anonymous mods on that site. At one point, one of the general board hens had full mod rights on all forums.

It all started a week or more ago when that arse posting as "Nathan Scott" told another poster that he wished they had been on stack when it collapsed. We assumed he was gone, then he was right back posting. Got called out, and made more "jokes" about the collapse, and that thread was deleted but he wasn't banned until STAFF got called out again and again.

Pretty messed up.

Yes, or they use the edit feature to reply to a user post.

Man, I don't know. If they don't like what someone said delete the post, or give him a time out. But changing someone's words...

It is the Soviet Republic of College Station after all. They edit, which would not be as bad if they were at least funny. I called out Clay Travis on there one time and you would think I farted on the Pope. They do not understand that Clay was using them for the hits and to sow the seed for Bama hate. They hear what they want to hear instead of what they should hear.

To be fair, a lot of TexAgs' staff edits actually are pretty funny.

quote:

Meh, I think you might have missed a little of the dynamic when it comes to Travis and TexAgs. He was one of the few non-Aggie voices in our corner for the SEC move from jump street (and before JFF made it big). He was also not afraid to call out t.u. repeatedly for their foibles.

Group think issues aside, there's legitimate reason for TexAgs to like Clay. And that reason has nothing to do with Bama hate one way or the other.
