Drove up 85N and they have a sign bragging about their little bowl game

What's your point? That UGAy is in a better bowl than Ole Miss?
Posted on 12/25/13 at 4:29 pm to Rules
The point is that it's not something to brag about.

Oh. OK.
I'm more interested in why Ole Miss is advertising in GA.

To me, if Tech wants to advertise this bowl I can understand since it's the local school. But Ole Miss is not going to impress kids wirh that bowl.

They hope to convince a couple of 2*s to go there instead of the Trade School.

FWIW, is seen some Gator Bowl ads on electronic billboards around Athens. Probably more to do with drumming up ticket sales than "bragging."

Which is why I said it's okay for Tech to have the ad but not Ole Miss.

There's actually a good bit of Mississippi fans in the Atlanta area stretching down to the Upstate of South Carolina. I work with an Ole Miss fan. Never even considered the possibility. I've even done several jobs at households that were supporting Ole Miss on their vehicles, property, etc...

It's not for their fans though. It's for recruiting and recruits don't generally care for the Music City Bowl.

Maybe, but I can think of 8 or 9 schools that
have a bigger presense/alumni base in metro
Atlanta.I'd say AU,Bama,UT,SC,UNC,FSU,UF and Clemson off the top of my head.
I have noticed a few more friends kids
that have enrolled or applied

Recruiting. I'm not sure why they think this bowl would help much though. Unless they just think any publicity is good publicity. Can't imagine the draw though. "Come to Ole Miss, maybe get to 8 wins and play in a slightly better bowl than this shite!"?

"poor" Ol Miss is LOL at us..

they got an up-n-coming HC and has already cherry-picked our state for the #1 recruit in the nation (I know family was involved, but still they pulled it off) and now they are back working on grabbing another from our program...
We're supposed to be this great world beating program and in reality, we're no better than Ol Miss at this point in time.

Pretty sure Ole Miss fans would trade with us in a heart beat. What recruit are they about to cherry pick this year?
