without the inexplicable wins over top 10 teams every now as then.

I remember all the buzz when he was hired and it seems like he overachieved early in his tenure but now he's just coasting while the program becomes more and more mediocre.

Bama, I think you could do better.

They don't care, football sustains them, as it would me if ole miss was that successful in football.

I have some Gump friends who tell me that a good basketball season can help soothe the pain of a disappointing football season. They say that just a few upset wins over ranked teams can get them through the Spring months. It really shouldn't take that much effort for Grant to satisfy their fanbase, yet he still manages to underachieve.

They've lost every close game they've been in this season. Alabama isn't a bad team this season, and they'll do pretty well in SEC play probably, but it'll be almost impossible for them to make the NCAAT with all of their losses in non-conference play. Seems like they're NIT bound again.

I'm not sure that'll be enough to get him fired. He has a pretty good recruiting class coming in next season, and that may or may not have bought him another season. I don't think he's a bad coach, but he's definitely not a great one, either. Alabama can definitely do better, but they could also definitely do worse.

Should be interesting what happens with him this offseason. If Alabama does well in SEC like I think they will, I think he'll get 2014-15, but it would go either way. I'd definitely want him fired at this point if I were a Bama fan.

I remember being jealous that Bama hired Grant and LSU hired Johnson. Now I feel as if everything worked out for the best

When do we even rarely beat a top ten team? When we hired him he was the top young coach in the country having just beaten Duke in the NCAAt and building the VCU team that went to the Final Four. He's a fine coach and I think he will have success at his next stop. He brings a lot to the table, but it just hasn't consistently clicked here for him for whatever reason. It's time for a change.

And to the haters who inevitably come here to trash Alabama basketball, we have the second most SEC tournament titles and the third most regular season titles. This is a program that is capable of winning and has proven so. There's plenty of money to go around, as evidence by the $2+ million we pay Grant every year.
