Name some places to visit within 6 hours of BR/NO. Want thread here

2-3 day getaway. Couple kids. Some outdoor stuff to do would be great.

being serious. they have this amazing hotel called the king Edward, a fantastic childrens museum, great restaurants, good shopping out in madison mississippi about 5 minutes away. they have some parks. i visited last summer and am considering a job in madison myself

That's about it. Just for an idea of the extent of 6 hours, Birmingham is about 6 hours away.

Memphis ... any number of cheap hotels, and a few nice ones. See Graceland, Mud Island, eat BBQ, visit Southland Park and do some gambling. Take a riverboat cruise. Beale Street, etc.

5 hours 30 minutes with two stops along the way. Made the trip a couple of times myself.

But it's a "clearer" lake than Enid and especially Sardis.

Yeah.


Kiefer's in Jackson, MS is legit for gyros and Greek. I don't think gyros are at the top a kids pallet though.

Grenada, MS - Jake and Rip's BBQ and catfish. Right off I55. Beware lots of Ole miss crap everywhere. Nice meal though. About 100 miles from Memphis.

Toledo Bend - cabin or camping at one of the state parks for fishing, boating, watersports
