They have film from Auburn in 2009, 2010, and 2011...when we ran the exact same offense.

While 2010 at least resembled your offense from this year, it was still more balanced with Cam. Down the stretch of this season, AU's offense has become less and less balanced (for good reason).

While this may be the same offense from 2009 and 2011 in theory, you need film of it actually being run EFFECTIVELY to really gauge anything off of it. In terms of effectiveness against the top of the SEC, those years don't stack up to 2010 and this season. With the same crew returning, and likely the same looking and feeling offensive style next season, DC's will have a lot more to go on this summer.

This doesn't mean everyone will suddenly shut AU down next season. But they will have a better chance of figuring things out than they did this offseason with tons of unknowns.

Besides, LSU fans told us how terrible Greg Robinson was to start with (not you specifically)...

Maybe a few idiots did, but I am pretty sure most LSU fans were pretty pissed LSU lost out on the guy. We really wanted him and were more upset with the way things happened, especially some of the shady yet unconfirmed things going on at Auburn.

In the end, for whatever reason, Robinson chose Auburn and we can only assume they recruited him better to do so, but I don't think most LSU fans said he sucked.

I'd like to have him, great talent. But IMO, 1 year of Quille isn't worth losing out on 4 years of a Noil or Dupre. If the coaches got the feeling that would happen, I can see why they would have backed off.

BUT 3000+ YARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERTICAL PASSING GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your post doesn't help your argument much. It seems like you're saying that AU's passing game is one of the most efficient in the nation when used, yet you never use it.

GT put the Top 2 NFL Wrs in the league. If you are good, it doesn't matter the offense you run in college.

If you are saying Calvin Johnson is top 2 in NFL you are correct. Chan Gailey did not run the option in his HC career. You know the coach who was there when Calvin was there.

Uh, how does that not help my argument?

Vertical passing game - the ability to stretch the defense vertically down the field. A good vertical passing game is one that is successful doing it.

Different than short/intermediate passing game. Or horizontal spread passing (bubble screens and what not).

Being successful at something, even if isn't used as much as say the read option, doesn't mean that it's not part of your offense.

This year's Auburn team has a successful vertical passing attack.

Air Force ran for almost 600 more yards than Alabama this year (about 50 ypg more), yet it took them over 200 more carries to do it. Which run game would you rather have? The one averaging 5.97 ypc or the one averaging 4.95 ypc?

Washington State averaged 364 ypg passing. Ten yards more per game than JFF and TAMU. However, they threw it over 140 more times than JFF. Which passing game would you want on your team? The one averaging 6.3 yards/attempt or the one averaging 9.3 yards/attempt?

And when we say "game," we are talking about ability, not cumulative statistics. Doing something over and over doesn't make you good at it if you can't be successful when you do it. Throwing the ball 58 times a game doesn't mean you have a good passing attack if you rank in the 100s when looking at yards per attempt. It just means you throw the ball a lot and aren't very good at doing it.

Our coaches havent spoken to him in weeks (per Quille himself), writing on the wall. Our coaches want the incoming freshmen and convincing Quille we can keep him safe probably isnt a promise we could keep.

Still it is odd that he needs to announce anything if he is just sticking with his commitment to Auburn.

Until this kids is on campus, i'm not going to think he is coming to AU,, but I hope LSU really is calling the dogs off.

As for his safety, I don't think that is Assn issue in his recruitment.

Well he told Keith Nieubler our side hasnt been in touch with him for "a couple weeks". Adam Henry visited him about 2 weeks ago so I guess that was our last contact.

It was his primary reason for decommitting from LSU in the first place. There's some stuff out his control that didn't sit him too well from his past.

It was, I can assure you.

His decommitment from LSU and trip to Colorado to hideout were absolutely related to the death of his cousin.

Supposedly the police have arrested the suspects in the murder of his cousin.

Anyway, congrats on the pick up and good luck in the big one.

So then what's this thread all about then.

If he visits LSU or something, then you have something to be worried about. Otherwise, all signs point to the Barn.

He's all over the board. I think he's a headcase and don't really care if he signs with Auburn or not.

Is he worth the headache for a year is the real question. He's been in trouble or sat out games at every one of his stops for acting like a thug.
