Start RA'ing the frick out of anyone, LSU fan or not, who insists on just flaming in an otherwise civil thread. shite is getting really old.

Not really, you just gotta know where not to go. I have lived in BR my whole life, and have never had to worry about crime.

And FWIW the city will be infinitely better in 20 or so years. Its one of the best cities in the south in terms of opening small businesses, not to mention Hollywood moving to BR

That is very false as well.

People in this thread are just talking out of their asses.

There are plenty of wonderful places in Mississippi. So much history and heritage. Oxford is beautiful and so are lots of other areas. Have you ever driven through really cool rural cities in Mississippi?

Why do people give these ridiculous blanket statements? Why do people suck so fricking bad?

lulz. BR has LSU and is close to NO with good food but other that that it is a crime ridden craphole. I can't imagine having to live there unless you were a student.

You have obviously never been to the nice portion of Baton Rouge. Sure, it has its bad part, as does any city with a population over 100,000.

I'm sure if you try hard enough you can find a nice part, especially out in the suburbs. Detroit has some nice areas too but you couldn't pay me enough to live there.

Still, in 2011 (an average year) there were 64 murders in BR. Compare that to College Station which had 1 and rarely has more than 2 or 3. Austin (which is much larger than BR) had 28. The overall crime rate in BR is almost twice the national average.

More than that though, there isn't 1 bad area of BR. It's more like there are just a couple of decent areas in BR. The folks I know from BR advise owning and carrying a gun and avoid many public areas such as malls, especially at night. That's not good.

Oh, and nice pickup.

For those in the BR area, ESPN Baton Rouge (104.5/104.9 FM) will hold his announcement live, coming up shortly on Matt Moscona's show....

Who brought up College Station and Austin?

Austin is top 5 cities in the country and its where your big brother lives.

College Station is lame as frick and filled with ugly people. There's only been 1 murder, but that doesn't count the suicides.
