As you can see we have pretty much been spoiled rotten. I know Bobo gets a lot of shite a times, but the dude is clearly exceptional at developing QB talent. None of us possess a crystal ball that will allow for us to see what the future holds at the QB position, but if anything bringing in and developing talent at that position is the very least of my worries.

I've been more of a Bobo advocate the past few seasons because of our offensive production and especially by comparison to our defensive woes. We have had great players on defense but mediocre defenses at best. On the other hand, we've had NFL players on offense with great numbers. At the very least, Bobo isn't getting in the way of the talent we have, but I think he's utilizing them as well as can be.
Grantham on the other hand....
Going to miss Murray next year.

What's Murray's 2013 stats (including the rushing)?
Posted on 12/16/13 at 1:50 pm to meansonny
Almost Identical to 2012 with more rushing TD's
64,8%
26 TD
9 Int
3075 Yds
186 Rushing yds
7 TD
This was the most since his rFR year when he had 167 yds and 4 TD

Bobo and Richt do a great job getting QBs ready.
However, you win this conference by running the football.
You might find a better trend as to our good years and bad years by rushing stats as opposed to what the QBs are doing.

I agree 100% I mainly made this thread to highlight one of our strengths as an offensive unit. I had just tired of being a miserable "negadawg" so this was an attempt to blow some sunshine dust and dust off my mickey mouse ears.
But anyways here are the rushing stats if you are interested
shite Years
2009 161.9 Rypg
79.7 Ealey
59.4 King
2010 142.6 Rypg
Ealey 62.6
King 53.8
Great Years
2012 182.6 Rypg
Gurley 98.9
Marshall 54.2
2007 177.3 Rypg
Knowshon 102.6
Brown 77.9

I know we've come to expect to be great, but I'll always be a tiny bit thankful for any rushing attack we have after the 2000 season, which included our leading rusher being Brett Millican with 375 yards.
No, that is not a typo. I said 375 yards and meant it. That was our leading rusher. Brett Millican. A slower, less mobile, less talented version of brendan douglas.
375.

What I remember about the 2000 team was Quincy Carter missing half the season with a "thumb injury" and former walk-on Cory Phillips throwing 100 passes a game.
Richt gets a lot of deserved criticisms for player development, but Donnan makes Richt look like Saban in that regard. On paper that 2000 team was loaded on both sides of the ball.

What I remember about the 2000 team
Quincy throwing 5 picks in columbia and watching those frickers tear down the goalposts for the 2nd week in a row
Lito Sheppard
George Godsey
OT in auburn
But what a game against UT. One of the best games I've ever been to and one of the 3 best atmospheres I've ever seen in Athens.

I remember the early Richt years where we had the revolving door of RBs like Michael Cooper and co who all would put up 500 something.
Thank god we don't do that anymore

Brown 77.9
24 rushing TDs from Brown and Moreno
Added my own personal take a little bit there.
FWIW...
2013
176.08 ypg as a team
Gurley 100.33 ypg
Marshall 49.2 ypg
Douglas 30.64 ypg
Green 33.18 ypg
17 rushing TDs
You win in the trenches. And I quantify that by rushing TDs. Otherwise, we are going to lose every big game on our schedule (2011, we had 12 rushing TDs from tailbacks, fullbacks, and athletes... and we lost every big game on our schedule).

Imagine these backs with a semi competent line like Alabama's. I mean jeebus, that'd be downright terrifying. Murray would have more McCarron-esque stats and it'd be sensational

I think that was more of a Donnan thing.
-In 2001 we kinda had no options. We had jasper and bruce thornton so who the hell knows what to do.
-In 02 we rode musa
-In 03 we rode lumpkin
-04 was really the biggest committee deal with lump/brown/ware, but they were all pretty equal
At any rate, I MUCH prefer the "find a stud and stick with him" method we've been doing since 07, with 9 and 10 being the exceptions.

Eh, may be mixing it up. I thought 2003 we had the revolving door until settling on Lumpkin at the end?
Wasn't that the year of Cooper and some dudes I honestly can't remember?
I remember Musa and now that I think about it yea, 2004 onward Georgia typically had a tandem they stuck with until 2011 and everything got all gay and shitty cause crow tore his labia and everyone got high. Guess I remember the Donnan years better than I thought

I remember Cooper and Browning and maybe another guy splitting carries one year.
I remember Cooper looking tall and slow as frick running the ball.

Cooper got his first carry against clemson that year, then got the workload next week against SC. I can't remember why he wasn't the feature back all year. I just know eventually it was lumpkin. I forgot about Cooper until you just said it, even though you alread mentioned him earlier in the thread lol.

Nah. He caught that crazy screen pass against LSU in 03. Graduated in 04 or 05 I think.

got amighty you're right. I'm all kinds of mixed up. I remember him from 05, couldn't remember when he left though.
