Please don't come here with the "he gone" bs bc The man isn't going anywhere. What he's done at Bama is remarkable - two tiles in a very short period of time. But winning a title is extremely difficult and requires lots of luck as well. Breaking in a new QB next year, the new playoff system, and going toe to toe with guys like Sumlin, Malzahn,Miles, Etc just in the west makes a title even more difficult. I think the playoff system is a disadvantage for the SEC and will probably jeopardize the conferences long run in the title game, especially for those teams those SEC teams who have been given the benefit of the doubt by the pollsters, i.e. Bama in the rematch (although they beat the snot out of LSU). I think the playoff system will set up a situation where the SEC King, whomever it may be and whether rightfully earned or created by media hype and easy schedules, will have to play an additional tough game and jeopardize which will jeopardize the title. With that said, I just don't see Bama winning multiple titles over the next several years as many of you predict. And bf you flame away, I think Bama has best program in nation at the moment. Thoughts?

On deer stand on handheld - no paragraphs!! Just don't see two more, especially with having to face these HUNH offenses which have given Saban fits

You may no think he'll win 2 more, but would you be surprised/shocked if he did? I think the answer to that is "No.".

I think it depends on how long he stays. We will not have a QB next year I don't think unless he goes to a JUCO and gets one which is what I suspect he will do.

I think the playoffs will actually help him. A one loss Alabama team under Saban is a media darling and will get the benefit of a playoff spot as long as there aren't 4 other major programs that are undefeated.

As long as he gets in the playoffs, Saban will do well with one possible rematch and they are just better than 99.9% of the other programs.

I don't think he wins another one. I think he does pretty well for the next 4 years and retires or goes to the NFL.

Well he's got another #1 class coming in. Could be his best yet. And that's on top of 3 other #1 classes. Add to that a winning formula (top defense and conservative offense) and why would you think he can't do it again?

And with the playoff coming next year luck won't be as big a factor. To get in the top 4 he can have a loss and not worry about the stars aligning perfectly like in 2011 and 2012. Go 11-1 at Bama and you're probably in the top 4. Then its a matter of post season play. And he's proven he knows now how to prepare in the waiting period better than anyone.

Exactly this. Alabama is in a unique position to benefit from a playoff simply due to the perception that they are the country's strongest program.

At least.

I think the chances are pretty good that he wins one or multiple in coming years. But there is no way to really know. Everything any of us have ever understood about winning a NC changes next season.

Bottom line, Imo, 2011 never happens again. (Insert LSU cheers here) The committee will be about spreading the wealth across all major conferences.

Coach Saban will have Bama in contention and as a fan, that's all I can ask.

In 2005, if you were asked "Who will win a BCS title first, USC or Bama?" you would have been a fool to pick Bama. But Bama has won three since then and the Trojans have won zero. So who knows really.

The only problem with this is you might have to play another great SEC team twice. Would you want to replay Tim Tebow again in 09'? Auburn would have to replay us this year. Its going to happen a lot and its very hard to win the second game. So, oddly you might have to lose the first so you can win the second one. That's going to suck. Assume the game with Florida in 09' was pickem or 50/50. The chances of winning two 50/50 games is only 25% and the loser usually gets an edge on the winner somehow (ask LSU).

Wrench that's my point exactly. Those predicting multiple titles for Bama in next several years are full of it. Too many variables at play. What if Bama has Jordan Jefferson Like QB play for next two years, injury bug, mass exodus of these awesome recruits early to NFL, a great Auburn or LSU team that's unbeatable, etc
