If Miles was replaced or Saban had left Bama what would be the future of each program if replaced by a ok/decent coach? Id have LSU still as a national contender because of in state recruiting and theyve set themselves up as an NFL farming system. I think Bama would taper off eventually after 5 years.

Except for one 7-year stretch in the 2000s, you are correct.

Besides lucking into a Saban hire with perfect timing...I'd say Bama's track record of hiring coaches would be interesting.

DuBose was a straight up bad hire

Fran was one of the hottest names in the country but our AD forgot to judge for character

Price was one of the hottest names in the country but our AD still forgot to judge for character

Shula was a Bama alum that we could trust to have integrity, and we brought him in to weather a storm that was coming regardless (NCAA)

I don't think those mistakes get made again

A lot has changed. Bama's athletic department now has little in common with before

There aren't many Saban's out there.....like I said, it will be interesting and almost assuredly a downgrade.

But the great thing is AU, LSU and a few others will have much to do with how Saban leaves Bama

Hopefully we make it similar to Bowden and Paterno's departures.....painful

Yea, these last several years have been tough. I imagine it will only get worse next year.

You can't be serious? I mean, Bama had no success prior to Saban

Oh. There aren't ANY other Sabans out there

This current run is not gonna be repeated any time soon IMO. Not even by Bama.

But once Saban retires, a lot of great coaches will be knocking down the door.

Alright, we've now identified at least SIX really stupid LSU fans on the forum. What's going on? Are these fools plants, sent into the forum by the LSU folks to make the rest of us just shake our heads and go away in amazement, or what? There's no way y'all could have that big a monopoly on stupidity.
