How long can we expect the SEC to dominate college football like it has the last decade? Is this sustainable? What historical corollaries are out there? Is the machine and the money unstoppable minus some massive league-wide scandal? Just wondering what opinions there are out there? This whole coaching thing brings it specifically to mind.

Until USC or Texas gets back probably. Then itll be closer. Pac 12 with USC, Stanford, Oregon would be legit

Nothing lasts forever. Just enjoy the ride until you get bucked off.

As long as it takes for traditional soutern-ish powers who can recruit within our domain to regain some power..
Mainly Texas and OU, but FSU, Clemson and others are in the mix too

Or until former CFB players sue for concussions and colleges start dropping the sport left and right.
Then the question is what do we do with these big empty stadiums?

Florida State has a chance to knock the SEC off the throne this year. If USC, Texas etc ever actually pulls off a Saban/Harbaugh type hire there are other schools that have the capability of building a program that would give the SEC a run. Who knows if it will ever happen. If Texas had straight up fired MB and cut to the chase they might have their coach now.

As long as the SEC dominates recruiting, the league will dominate on the field. We do that with great coaches, facilities eft.

Fill them up with ex NFL cheerleaders and have a nude cheerleading competition.

We learn to like Soccer.... how about we just get a head start and starting building elite programs now. SEC SEC SEC!

Just wait, someone is going to give the whole "historically good programs just need one great coach to become elite again" spiel which is bullshite. Notre Dame last year and FSU this year don't prove shite. For every resurgent giant there are two that died and stayed dead see Minnesota, Illinois, Army and so on. TDeclines are real.
As far as the OP's question this is real life, not make believe. The bad guys often do win and in CFB the SEC is undoubtedly evil. We're like the Hawks in the Mighty Ducks or the Germans in Die Hard, we have the brains, training, money and resources to be utterly dominant but unlike those movies no rag tag team of losers or Cop on vacation is going to stop us. We may have a few set backs in our conquest, but like Custer's Hill they will prove to be the exceptions. No Skywalker will destroy Slive's Death Star. We're the bad guys and we're going to keep winning so long as demographics and money are on our side.

No matter if the SEC is dethroned this year the SEC is definitely a NC contender each year for the foreseeable future. Personally I think Auburn will make it 8 straight and Bama will return the favor next year.

That's exactly what I'm telling you.

Also, define "back" for Texas. They win once championship in 40 years. What are they coming back to?

You've been listening to too much of that thimble-headed Malcolm Gladwell nonsense. CFB isn't going anywhere.
