How much does the loss of Mal Moore hurt Bama right now?

He was the one who flew to Miami and waited to talk to Saban. Given the recent changes at Alabama (new President, New AD) combined with 10 years/$100 million, I wouldn't be surprised to see Saban leave.

There, I said it.

it's all speculation because of TD and LSU fans. Saban to UT is not even a slight possibility.

If Mark Emmert wouldn't have left LSU in '04, I think Saban would have stayed.

Do you think Saban doesn't get along with the current UA Administration?

God damn it. Couldn't you post this in one of the other 2,000 sensational threads?

Saban isn't going to Texas. He's old. Bama is as good as Texas.

prior to hiring saban, moore was seen as a pretty inept AD... don't get me wrong, he hit a grandslam (and then some) with saban.

Saban did a great job at Bama. If he wants to go somewhere else, that's his business. Anybody here want to be in a job you couldn't leave if better prospects came along?

According to most of those clowns on Shaggybevo, UT is a mixture of Harvard and Alabama, but better than both of them put together. The meltdown on that board will be legendary if Saban stays put. Way funnier than any potential meltdowns on these boards.

This. Older bama fans did not like him prior to the Saban hire.

All due respect to Mal, who by all accounts was an absolute first class individual, I can't see this meaning diddle to today's events.

Isn't the current AD the guy who founded College Sports Licensing or whatever it is? That's a billion dollar company. I doubt he lacks the business sense to get the job done.

If Saban wants to be at Bama then he'll stay. If he doesn't, then he'll leave. I don't think it will be because their current AD is inept. He doesn't strike anyone as being that.

oh yeah, and:

if you think that number is real.

He's not the man who waited for and hired Saban. Saban and Moore had a tight relationship. I've seen nothing to lead me to believe the same can be said about his relationship with Battle.

I can't believe that some of you Gumps still believe that old myth. Really? Mal just showed up on Saban's doorstep with a bunch of roses and a box of candy and waited on the porch (in the rain?) until Saban let him in. Seriously? Come on man.

That deal was done before Mal ever got on the plane to Miami. Saban works trough his agent. Period.

Damn you people are so gullible.

This. All of it.
