LINK

The link above shows the ticket allocation for the LSU Alabama game. Both schools gave 2000+ tickets to students out of a 17000 ticket allocation for the game

The ticket office has said that for the 20000 ticket allocation, students will only be getting 2000. Taken out of that 2000 will also be the band, tigerettes and tiger hosts and bullshite like that

Thanks JJ

Appears to be Standard practice at all schools. Big $$$$ boosters expect the tickets.

I get where you're coming from. Since it's a "College" Football National Championship, you would think that students would get the largest allotment of tickets and not alumni, donors, and Government officials

Some Duke alumni purchased the entire allotment of student tickets for the Chick-fil-a bowl and are giving them to students at no cost. Now I'm sure this has more to do with Duke's desperation to make sure the Georgia Dome is full after their showing at the ACCCG but the gesture should still be appreciated.

yea nothing personal to the students...but they'd be the lowest in the pecking order if I were running it.

all while trying to sell your cheaper tickets at significant premium.

Luckily, they make you pick up tickets in person. However, now you have students trying to sell their tickets to people that look similar

I have no problem selling a student ticket to a freshman that wasn't able to get them.

That said, if I win the lottery tomorrow my arse isn't selling anything.

Here's how everyone who entered the lottery is thinking:

"I entered the lottery!!" -AU student
"Oh cool do you have plans to go?" -me
"Hell if I win the lottery I'm gonna make it there somehow some way. there's no way I'm missing out if I win this." -student
"How much do you plan to spend?" -me
"Ehh probably just gonna drive there, sleep in my car, and drive back.. I don't have the money to fly or rent a hotel." -student
"Have you thought this all the way through?" -me
"Obviously I have.. I just told you how I'll do this thing." -student

OR This Way:

"Hey man I entered the lottery" -student
" Oh nice man good luck" -me
"Yeah I'm pretty much broke and my parents aren't big AU fans and refuse to pay for it as Christmas gift" -student
" Wow looks like you might have to break the bank.. are you going with anybody?" -me
"Nah just me.." -student
"Sounds like a blast to me" -me
"Yeah my whole budget is like $500 including the ticket.." -student
"......" -me

Students are morons about this. Going to be a second lottery since there is no way more than 75% of winners actually pick up tickets.

I understand students get shite on but I didn't expect to be shite on at a higher percentage than Alabama - LSU

I think students deserve a bigger allocation but not by much. Most students can't afford it and what not. If they did 3-4k tickets for students, that would be perfect.

I also understand how Donors > Students despite how fricked up that is

Well all you have to do is pay for your ticket in Auburn.. you have to pick it up with your valid ID and ignited card in Pasadena.

There will be a re-lotto but I don't see many tickets that are won not being paid for by the end of this week.

Very few will end up selling them due to the requirements of picking up the tickets.

There are a few of us talking about just leaving several days in advance and making the drive. Hell I'll do it by myself if I win a ticket and it comes down to it.

How is a student that has to show a valid matching ID of themselves and their AU card in Pasadena to pick up their ticket going to sell it before they even make the trip?

Enlighten me.

Yeah that sounds fun and all until you realize it is a 60 hour drive round trip.

60?

I'm guessing it'll end up being more like 80, honestly. But if you have four or five different people driving it's doable and there'll never be another time in most of our lives where driving all the across the country is possible.
