When's the last time an ole 'timer coached in or won a NC?
Seems like, as of late, most coaches are winning in their first years coaching at their school. I'm thinking since 2000, when Stoops won his at OU.
I'm not on the Fire Richt bandwagon, but, it seems like most of these coaches have been get theirs within their first few years...

2000: OU won in Stoops's second season. That team had a great defense, also really good offense and ran a three week gauntlet (#11 Texas, @ #2 K-State, #1 Nebraska) that was as good as any in recent memory.

2001: Miami won in Coker's first season. Coker wasn't a great coach but Butch Davis left him with the most talented team in college football history.

2002: OSU won in Tressel's second season because they were the luckiest team (until AU this year) and because McGahee blew his knee out.

2003: LSU won in I believe Saban's fifth season.

2004: USCw won in Carroll's fourth season.

2005: As mentioned, Texas won in Brown's eighth season.

2006: UFelon won in CUM's second season.

2007: LSU won in Miles's third season.

2008: UFelon in CUM's fourth season.

2009: Alabama in Saban's third season.

2010: Auburn in Chizik's second season.

2011/2012: Alabama in Saban's fifth and sixth seasons.

It seems like these coaches are coming into power programs that are already loaded with talent and building on that, with Coker being the best example of that with Miami.

Apparently not enough to overcome mediocre coaching.

Which coach in the country could have won a national Championship at Georgia this past season in your opinion?
