That FL State will have a month to prepare for your run game?
Or is this scheme just too hard to defend with how well AU has executed it as of late?

On another note, I like this match up and think you guys play with a lot of guts, should make for an interesting match up.

Bama had essentially two weeks to prepare for it and we still ran it pretty well against them. I think it's just hard to stop.

No, only because I don't let games concern me in the first place. Auburn get's the same time to prepare for them as well. I do look forward to the opportunity Auburn has to play them.

And at some point, it comes down to athletic guys making plays. Marshall, Mason, Grant, Artis-Payne and Louis are all pretty effective runners.

Of course, that's a concern.

But also of concern, this time for FSU, is a young first-year starter, winning the Heisman, traveling all over to accept his rewards, and getting a little rusty as well as a lot distracted.

Lots of "concern" to go around.

Not concerning at all.

What does concern me is that Auburn has a month to lose momentum.

There's just something about getting into a rhythm when running the option.

Look at AU and Oregon in 2010. I didn't think either defense played all that well. The offenses just looked out of sync.

Very likely AU looks out of sync. It's going to be up to our defense to rattle Winston and give us a chance late.

Not with Jeremy Pruitt doing the planning. Ellis also gets a month.

Florida State probably has a better front seven to stop it, but they've not been challenged one bit this year. What will they do when they get punched?

Another month of practice without having to worry about game planning for the most part could allow us enough time to get the passing game upgraded a bit too. As for the run game, an option is tough to defend when run well and Auburn keeps getting better with it.

My biggest concern about the game is turning the ball over. We can't afford to have a few turnovers.

You're not giving your team enough credit.

Alabama has much better athletes at linebacker not to mention safeties that are NFL ready right now.

Florida State's good, but they aren't Alabama.

That's a good question. Also, either or both teams could come out flat after a long layoff. It makes zero sense to wait a month to play this game.

The Heisman "jinx" could be cause for concern. I think Winston will come out a little anxious and then settle down....AU needs to come out a blazing.

Hopefully that month will help us in our play action game. As good as our o-line has been against the run, pass blocking has been a bit of a concern in my oppinion.

Also a question for fellow AU fans. Where has the pump and go been? Todd and Cam ran it to perfection. You would think with Nick's arm, and Sammie's speed we would have used it this season. I can't recall seeing it at all this year.

That's the question. No one has challenged them. We don't know how they will react to a few punches in the mouth.

I'm hoping the long delay has more of a negative effect on FSUs passing game. I would think passing teams are more likely to be rusty compared to run dominant teams.

I don't really think scheme is what you need to stop our offense when it really is clicking. Alabama or any other decent run defense we've played this year has all the X and O s to stop our run game. The problem comes down to execution when you are dog arse tired.. You know your reads when you are not winded; but your reaction time and mind get cloudy when you get tired and hit which leads to big plays.

I don't think a month does that much better than a week in this case. With the fact that we run the same plays so often you are going to know your assignments very quickly; it just boils down to can you do it over and over again for 50 times and make your first play as good as the 38th.

Alabama is moving to a smaller, quicker front for a reason. We are just not built to consistently stop a HUNH offense. It can be stopped with consistent penetration. Florida State has a fierce pass rush. Alabama does not without blitz packages. Hell, we only had 21 sacks total this year.
