I haven't paid enough attention to this stuff, so please humor me. So beginning next season, outside of the 3 bowl games committed to hosting the playoffs, will the rest of the bowl games be just that, bowl games. No special categories?

I'm assuming provenance/history will bestow certain games with more prestige, as well as the records of the teams playing in them.

I'm fricking glad the BCS era is over. Hoping the playoff system is actually an improvement.

Dawgs # 1 seed vs #4 AU. Blowout win. Dawgs roll to an easy MNC. Is that the goal of this?

No, I'm curious about the the status of the bowls lying outside of the playoffs.

Of fricking course the Dawgs are gonna win the NC, next year.

I have absolute confidence that the NCAA will find a way to foul up the playoff system too. Just seem to have a knack for it.

There will be controversy no matter what. It will just be over who should have been ranked 4th

Certainly. However, it would've been pretty cut-and-dry this year- it's a substantial drop after MSU, IMO.

#4 Dawgs blow out #3 Auburn in the SECCG and end the season #5, left out of playoff picture.

Book it.
