Since we're going and all and you guys have been there before pretty recently.. how was your trip, what did you do, and how did you enjoy the whole thing?

Incredible. The Rose Bowl Stadium is the single greatest setting you could ever have for a college football game. If you appreciate the history of college football as I do, you love that venue even more. If I get to go back 10 more times, I'll never forget my first experience there (you never forget your first, right?). If you have the chance, go. We stayed in Marina del Rey. Spent one day driving up and down the coast, Malibu, Santa Monica, etc. Another day Gumpin hard in downtown LA and Hollywood and Beverly Hills A lot of touristy stuff. It's beautiful out there, you won't regret going.

When I went I stayed in for most of the trip but got hotel in Victorville (about an hour outside of Pasadena) for the night before the game. That was on a broke student's budget, so I'm sure some of the ballers on here can give you a fancier plan.

As far as the Rose Bowl itself, it's cool, but piss as soon as you get in the stadium. My buddy went to pee an hour and a half before kickoff and didn't get back to our seats till the national anthem.

Looking forward to the trip. Any special recommendations on where you chose to eat or anything of the sort? I'm a food connoisseur

Can't really help you there. We just kinda found some place whenever we got hungry, didn't really seek anything specific out aside from In-n-Out Plenty of good food, just couldn't tell you the name of any of the places. Sorry

that was three national championships ago. I can't remember that far back.

but I recall many fans stating they were underwhelmed by the Rose Bowl stadium itself.

It's good advice. It's an old stadium and doesn't have enough tunnels, and the ones they have are real small. We got to our seats about an hour before the game and didn't leave. Guy next to us though left to go grab a beer and made it back 10 minutes before kick. It was a cluster.

You get to tailgate on a fricking golf course.

Except it's in Pasadena, CA surrounding by mountains, multi-million dollar homes, and gorgeous terrain. So it's almost as cool as Little Rock.

Also plenty of face value tickets can be found outside the stadium. I've seen some people trying to sell tickets for $1,200 a piece which is a joke.
