Who leaves behind a more memorable legacy, AJ McCarron or Johnny Manziel?

Manziel is one of the most electrifying playmakers at QB that we will ever see. He will likely leave A&M with no championships under his belt, but a Heisman trophy and maybe another.

McCarron is a solid QB that has National Championships, and is not out if the running for another this year. His name just doesn't seem to have any "buzz" to it. He seems to have the reputation of a game manager instead of a playmaking superstar, even with multiple National Championships under his belt.

30 years from now, whose legacy will be more memorable?

AJ and it's not even debatable.

JFF, the first freshman to win the Heisman.

AJ will be viewed as a glorified Ken Dorsey (which I don't agree with)

This is like asking if Tom Brady or Michael Vick will have a better NFL legacy

I say Manziel. Alabama is a far better program and even though this run is historic, AJ is another in a long line of great alabama QBs. On the other hand, manziel is likely the best player aTm has ever had, and if aTm returns back to normalcy after he leaves (which they probably will) people will look back at him even that much more fondly.

The question isn't who did better or accomplished more, it's who will be more memorable. It's gotta be JM in that regard, IMO.

Before either went to the NFL, I'm quite sure that Vick was looked at more memorably (whatever that means) at VT than brady was at michigan.

Exactly, whose will be more memorable? I can't name one "holy shite" play McCarron has had, yet I can name about 5 for Manziel.

and 100,000 more times. JFF did exactly squat except win the heisman. He needs to come back and do something before he heads to the NFL.

For sec fans it will be AJ. In terms of the nation it will be JFF because of the media love for him

Manziel was a lot more popular. McCarron won a couple championships, but he also has the added stigma of being an Alabama quarterback - the consummate game manager.

Also to expand on that further, AJM is one piece of the alabama machine right now. All he's had to do is manage the game and don't turn it over. Alabama has had elite defenses his whole career and a stout running game. Manziel has been forced to basically win games by himself. 30 years from now nobody is going to really care about Mark Ingram at alabama, except that he won their first heisman. But after him you had richardson, then lacy, now yeldon, etc. aTm won't have another manziel walk through the door anytime soon.

FWIW, Vick was the far better college QB. There's a reason why Brady dropped all the way to the 6th round.

You probably said holy shite when he threw the game winner against LSU.

The game winner against Georgia?

The 99 yard TD pass?
