Supposedly, VOLS lead after tonight's in home visit. Are you guys just holding him off until Fournette decides or what?

"Tennessee RB coach Robert Gillespie made an in-home visit with Darrell Williams tonight and the Vols have the upper hand in a pretty big way now. Our source who was there said Gillespie drove home the fact about Darrell being their top priority at RB and dad was on board. We will see what happens when he visits and how/if LSU counters."

Hearing a Tennessee in home visit just went really well with Rivals250 RB Darrel Williams of Marrero (La.) John Ehret. Sounds like Tennessee's coaches really did a good job tonight.

We've been slow playing him probably due to Fournette and also a couple of high profile guys in 2015 (Brossette already being a commit), but I'm pretty sure he's a take for us.

If LSU pushes for him it wont be until after Fournette commits since they also have Sione committed and they have a 2015 RB commit and likely a 2nd 2015 RB Guice going to commit also.
Doubt LSU really pushes for him

He's a great RB no doubt. We would love to have him. He would be a nice pick up for anybody

Sounds like his Dad wants to make sure his son gets carries wherever he goes. That's not a negative comment, just what Sonny at Geaux247 alluded to. Meaning, he wants his son to be a high priority at running back.
LSU offered as an athlete late in the game. I don't believe the elder Williams was thrilled with that. LSU has clarified that but still not willing to say with certainty that they'd want him to stay at RB for the long haul.
Meanwhile your coach is telling him he's the top priority at RB. You seem to be in a great spot now.
Louisiana just has some great talent at RB this year and next. We have one of two top backs from LA and the country for that matter committed already for next year and the other is considered an LSU lean. Add that with Fournette this year and LSU has its RB plans mapped out for years already.
Williams looks like a great talent though for sure.

LSU is pushing for him and want him pretty badly. We were slowplaying him but not now. He wants to be at LSU but his dad has some hard feelings because we chose Paleilei over him and have the audactiy to have Fournette as a priority. Thats an issue with dad but yet dad is buying the crap from UT that Williams is their top RB prospect even over Hurd. Some parents just cant stay in the shadows and let their children do what they want. Tennessee has a way of winning over overzealous dads like Janzen Jacksons and Devante Bourques. Its purely coincidental but strange nonetheless how its always Tennessee winning because of an overzealous dad. Dont know what happens from here on out. We'll see if Darrell or his dad get their way. LSU will be on them hard until signing day

Has LSU officially offered him at RB? Or just offered in general?
And yeah if Williams comes to UT I sure as hell hope he works out better than Bourque did.

How many commits can Tenn count back to last year with EE's? They already have 33 or 34 commits. They may be going for the record.

Texas is going to start making a run for him soon. Their current RB commit, Kevin Shorter, has a career ending injury.

Would love to see this guy in orange. LSU needs to share the wealth.

He'll probably end up at Tennessee

Would be big for us. A third running back is needed in a big way for this class.

He's an every down back that will be an early contributor. But he's not flashy and his measurable, while SEC-good aren't flashy. If they Vols are fortunate enough to get him they won't regret it.

a few Rivals and 247 contributors have begun calling Williams to Tennessee.
I expect we'll take him and Mosely and call it a day at 35.

Hurd & Williams would be a solid 1-2 punch. Even if committed though I won't hold my breath on a LA boy until he signs. Alabamas been the exception on this years LA crop not the rule IMO
