Saban may have developed a winning program and he may have helped revive the LSU football program, but he not a man I can admire. On the other hand, Les can be goofy and is sure to lay at least 1 egg every year, but he's a players coach, loves the game, keeps his perspective and has built a winning tradition at LSU. The Daily Beast, in this article lays him bear.

Meh, Saban tells it like it is when you f up. You are probably less likely to f up next time too. The writer sounds like a bitch. Saban is an arse, but I do not have an issue in this case.

So why shouldn't players bear some responsibility when they fail to execute and make plays ? Why coddle them ? A decent number will be in the NFL in the next year or two making millions ..

No facts, figures, direct quotes, or anecdotes; journalism at it's best.

They should make sure that all threads about saban started by LSU fans be moved to the tiger rant.
That article is pretty terrible

Saban didn't own the bone head decision of passing on a 33 yrd fg...he could have used either kicker then...that failed drive really changed the game, giving AU life..

It was an editorial smart guy. Just some guy's opinion.

All you have to do is go back and read what Les former players were saying about him after the game on 1/9. It was not very "Les" friendly.

Your post reminded me of Les Miles's most entertaining press conference (one of them at least)
LINK
He loves his players, clearly loves his job, and his character seems to be a good fit at LSU. He's blown some games, but I don't remember him ever blaming his players for it.
We also probably shouldn't judge Saban by one of the low points in his career at Alabama.

Saban should take another shot at the pros. But it's a lot easier to push around college kids and blame them when you blow a game.

Good article. Saban is a single-purpose robot. If he were curing cancer or inventing desktop fusion, I'd be a huge fan. He's not. He's dedicating his life to hording power and money at the expense of kids' physical and mental health.
Saban cares for his players like a good rancher cares for his cattle. And we all know how that cattle drive ends.

Revive nothing. LSU was hot garbage.

quote:
Instead of reminding Alabama fans of how much senior kicker Cade Foster, who had a terrible day, had contributed to Tide victories over his career, Saban made the astute point that it would have been better if they had not blown field goals: “The fact of the matter is that we did not make plays when we needed to. Whether it was a made field goal with a penalty or a missed field goal after that.”
quote:
Alabama shouldn’t believe it needs Nick Saban more than Saban needs Alabama. Alabama knew greatness before Saban and will after. The players and the university deserve a coach who will stand behind the players when they lose, even when it’s their fault. And this one was Saban’s fault.
