So smart he is weird and quirky. Rocks the visor and won't relenquish control of calling the ball plays. What say you...?

Why can't he just be Gus the genius? Why do you always kiss the arse of the opposing teams and other coaches? You didn't even give Auburn a chance to win the IB, and made many threads to showcase your opinions. gtfo

No t yet....needs a better resume

Gus's success might be a blessing and a curse. How will he ever out do what he has done this season?

Slow your roll.

Muschamp won 11 games last year and now his days are numbered.

Gus has a chance to win the SEC in his first year as a head coach in the conference. That is pretty dang impressive. Hopefully Spurrier wins one at Carolina before he retires.

Muschamp is not a good comparison because who has ever been excited about watching his team regardless of his record??

Auburn can do one better. Chizik won a NC and was gone two years later. I agree slow the roll, but Gus has started off great.

I think the lesson is that most AU fans were chest bumping that Chiz with Gus would take over the SEC after 2010 and they both flamed out to a degree. Gus like Larry Coker for example and other 1st yr succesful coaches now have to deal with expectations and the heavy demand to meet them. Its very real that AU will be the favorite in the west and odds on to make the title game with such a young team coming back.I think thats the real test. He proved he could win in the SEC, but can he do it when everyone expects you to now?

And he has the ticking timebomb of a batshit crazy wife.

Malzahn literally had everything so his way this year. Injuries were light, balls bounced his way, bama kickers kept missing FGs, etc, Hell, as a team I think they only lost like 8 of 20+ fumbles this year. That is simply something's that doesn't happen year in and year out.

I will give him a tip of the hat for a well-executed offense, but I would also wait a couple of years before throwing an extension at him, like AU did for Chizik only to have to eat that money a year later.
