If he has to say it out loud, it means he doesn't believe it. If the coach doesn't believe it, his players very definitely don't believe it.
Auburn's lucks runs out on Saturday. The black and gold will roll by 17. At least.

it'll be a great game. Your coach will have the team ready to play.

He did say that Auburn had a good chance to win if they kept the last game close in the 4th. Bama took that as a sign of weakness.
Maybe he's just a straight shooter, no?

It's an odd thing for a coach to say about a top 5 team with one loss in SEC play. I don't imagine it's part of a normal conversation going into the SECCG. I think deep down every team has thought this Mizzou team was the 2012 team.
Eta: by every team I mean every team we've played.

Who cares, it was probably a response to a question. Most of the talking heads like Holtz and Palmer still don't think Mizzou is a good team. Not sure why, but oh well. If the talking heads are down on us it probably is a question a reporter might consider asking.
The only guy who I have seen give Mizzou props is Mark May.

So when a coach is asked a question and answers it out loud he doesn't believe it?
You Mizzou fans got really fricked up with all the hazing you received, or being ignored.

Are you asserting that coaches are 100% truthful in interviews?
LULZ indeed.

You obviously haven't seen our kicker.
We start saying Hail Mary's on extra points.

Mizzous team is Legit. I dont think you'll find many Auburn folks who say different. Yall are looking for a way to grind I guess.

Auburn wins on a fumble snap for a touchdown on a kneel

Holtz said he didn't think there was any way Mizzou could have beaten both Ole Miss on the road, and A&M at home to finish the season. He didn't see any way that could happen. Had to admit he was wrong.
It is what it is. Let's be the underdog, I don't mind. I think the team likes it that way too, TBH - it makes them play with a chip on their shoulder.
There's enough disrespect out there - we don't need to go looking for things. I'm sure Malzahn respects our team and our program. If he doesn't, he's dumb, and I don't believe he's a dumb man. This should be a good game, and both teams have a shot at winning it. I don't see a heavy favorite.

Plain and simple...he doesn't want his team losing to (or beating) anyone that's "not legit".
