I wonder how painful it is being a Hog fan with Arkansas having so much great native coaching talent yet having to watch everyone else profit from it...Barry Switzer, Malzahn....

Our governor is an Arkansas State alum and he put the kibosh on the hire. At the time, it didn't appear Auburn was going to hire Gus, they had a few more names above him on their wish list. The other names didn't pan out and AU hired Gus, and Governor Beebe was shite out of luck. He wanted Malzahn to stay at Arkansas State for a while.

And Bear Bryant and Jimmy Johnson and so on. We have a pretty painful history of watching native sons win big elsewhere. From not offering the Bear a scholarship to letting Switzer walk to OU as an assistant to choosing Hatfield over JJ and pissing him off in the process, I'm really hoping we don't rue the day we took Bielema over Malzahn.

Arkansas: we'll grow you a Hall of Fame coach at no charge.

Will Malzahn Be Texas' HC When They Offer?

FIFY. The real question, imo

This is true.

I'm not real high on Bert right now (for some reason, setting losing streak record doesn't sit well with me) but he was left a shyt sandwich of a roster which was on par with or worse than the one Petrino inherited in 2008.

Bielema wasn't exactly the second coming of Bill Belichick this year, but he was playing wheelchair basketball against NBA all stars.

Wasn't Paul Bryant born in Arkansas?

Maybe

But I still don't want him

He went into a situation where he already had his players recruited for his style. He would've done just as shitty as Arkansas as Bert did his first year
