I am sure that this has been talked about but is it possible that Michigan was either gonna beat OSU in regulation OR OSU was going to remain in the national title hunt because the big 10 is desperate to get back in the BCS title hunt? There was no reason for Michigan not to tie the game and go into OT at home....and a one loss OSU team has 0 chance to play in the BCS title game....

You watch the game? Michigan d couldn't stop OSU rushing game in 2nd half. I thought it was the right call,IMO. Coach asked his seniors and they said try to win it.

I think the choice to go for it was the right one. With that being said they had two receivers within 3 yds of each other, bad play call.

Play call and pass attempt were piss poor.

Going for the 2 was the right move.

Michigan v OSU is more heated than Bama v Barn. No way Michigan takes one for the big ten.

Good try. German, you need to create a Bama alter so you can weave a conspiracy theory about how the refs cheated Bama or maybe that Saban had a mini stroke right before calling for the field goal and it temporarily impaired his judgment.

I watched some of it but I had some money on the Dookies and was a little pre-occupied....

I liked the call my self....but being at home usually is a pretty big advantage in OT..as is being the under dog....Michigan going for the win and not the tie definitely worked out in OSU's favor....barring a loss against Michigan State they will be the sacrificial lamb being led to the FSU slaughter...but had Michigan won there would be three SEC teams right now with a legitimate case to be made that they should play in the title game should they have only 1 loss....

Beyond that, the refs including the replay booth absolutely made calls in OSU's favor when the video evidence proved otherwise. Perfect example was when Michigan's QB clearly had BOTH knees on the ground and the refs and the replay booth called it a fumble.

BS!

I'm picking Michigan State to beat Ohio State.

Michigan State has a defense. Defense wins championships.

I don't think they tanked...I do think that the decision to win or lose in regulation may have had some conference implications...

Ohio State and Michigan is not as heated as the Iron Bowl....there are all sorts of things going on in Michigan and Ohio during the period between college football seasons that residents of both states get interested in...pro sports up the wazoo for instance...there is nothing else at all going on in the state of Alabama...nothing. College football is all they have in the way of sports....and the Braves to a lesser extent. I will guarantee you that the number of people at a 4th of July celebration in Montgomery discussing the iron bowl is exponentially larger than the number of people in Detroit or Toledo doing the same about Michigan/Ohio State. The Iron Bowl and Alabama / Auburn football is all Alabama has....there is nothing else...it is the thing that defines the state and it is serious fricking business 365 days a year....it never stops and is always a legitimate topic of discussion....just the fact alone that Ohio State / Michigan is an interstate rivalry and Alabama / Auburn is an in state rivalry alone is reason enough for the latter to be more important to the participants. There is no comparison in sport.....

Wow. You conspiracy theorists crack me up. Here's why they did it, simply put: Brady Hoke knew his defense wasn't stopping OSU's run game. Devin Gardner was playing the game of his life. So if you have to choose how to win a game, are you counting on your Swiss cheese defense to miraculously come up with a stop in OT, or would you rather put the ball in Gardner's hands for one play from the 3 yard line? It's an easy choice. Didn't like the play call though

I missed that call. Was Jasper Sanks running the ball?

German, it was just a play on how important the big ten thinks it is. Of course anything to do with the big ten is better than the sec. After all it is the big ten!

It was just as obvious and even more so after replay. That was an awful call and Michigan was probably going to score on that drive.

I had no issues with them going for it, but why run not run option at OSU like they had been all game. OSU couldn't really stop it.

Gardner was 32/45 457 5 total TD. I would have called a pass play too, but I thought they should have rolled him out
