So we finished 8-4.

Let's run down some of the major things that happened this year and take a look back at some predictions people had before the season.

- Aaron Murray solidified himself as a DGD and one of, if not, the best QB in UGA history. He holds every major passing record in UGA and SEC history. This year he proved he had the toughness and determination not many saw in him the past few years. He put the offense squarely on his shoulders. If it wasn't for the defense dragging him down, he makes one of the greatest comebacks in UGA history against Auburn. With all the injuries occurring this year, I am glad Murray didn't get injured during that time. If he goes down, we don't go bowling.

- Our defense was about as bad as everyone thought they were going to be. We all knew our offense was going to have to outscore the opponent up into the 30-40 point range.

- Many of you predicted a 1-3 or 2-2 start to the season and thought we were going to end up with a record from 9-3 to 7-5. We won the games we thought we were going to lose and lost the games we thought we were going to win. Hell, some of you had us starting out 1-4. I say with all the injuries, we did pretty damn good this year.

- Injuries. That was ridiculous. Hopefully the football gods will smile down upon us soon enough to greatness.

-Hutson Mason era has begun and right now, I like our chances and the maturity he showed today. He is definitely not Aaron Murray, but he looks like he can lead our offense to about the numbers and points AM did. He will be a suitable replacement and hopefully there won't be a "transition" year that we had with Cox.

If this defense doesn’t improve, then it won’t matter who is behind center. We had one of the most prolific passers in NCAA history, and he couldn’t bail out the D every game. If Grantham is still here, we will finish no better than 8-4

Otherwise, nice write-up Shockley.

Wait a minute...He will finish no better than 8-4? Didn't they go 12-2 the year before with Grantham as DC? Or was it just magic?

The only good team we played last year prior to AL was USCe.

This. Defense was loaded with talent and underachieved. The only tough team we played was SC. Auburn didn't win a single SEC game last season. Tennessee and Florida were/are down and out. We didn't play any good West division teams.
