Maybe this will be the loss that sends a message to Saban...

That we appreciate him, but he isn't perfect. That the fans aren't the problem (yes, we do have crowd issues) and that he should act a little more appreciative of being our coach rather than sending his wife to the WSJ and telling them we aren't good fans.

He's the best coach in football and I am so thankful for what he has done, but we lost this game due to his coaching. That's the first time in his tenure that I could say that.

Running on 4th down into the teeth of a fg block formation was just the worst call I've seen in the saban era without a doubt.

I appreciate Saban more than anything, but this isn't the first loss entirely on him. LSU 2011 (kick another field goal?) USCe 2010 (what was our gameplan exactly?) Auburn 2010 (conservative playcalling and zero adjustments)

Again I appreciate him but I think our fanbase idolizes him too much. His decisions lose games sometimes. That being said, I still support him and I'm okay with the Orange Bowl.

i said to myself we are slipping the tight end out for a uncontested touchdown pass when i saw that formation.

Pretty much this. There were blunders on his part multiple times this game. It's weird to say that, but that's what I'm irked about the most. Not Foster, not our corners, but Saban himself cost Bama the game.

I appreciate coach Saban, but I really didn't understand that last field goal. Maybe I was the only one wanting to take it to over time. We were just struggling on special teams all night.

The only coaching decision I really did not agree with was running the ball on the 4th down attempt late in the 4th. I thought that situation was screaming for a play action to Fowler or Howard.

There have been games where we just ran into better teams (LSU 2011, Florida 2008) or teams that just had the hot hand while we were mentally spent (USC 2010, A&M 2012). Today was different. From the start, we were afraid and it was obvious. Then it was one coaching blunder after another. Malzahn didn't do anything that he hadn't done all year....which you have to give him credit for. Yet we just vomited all over ourselves while they seem to thrive in the pressure situations.

I appreciate Coach Saban and am certainly not going to disrespect him like a certain other fan base disrespects their very good coach. However sometimes coaching does lose a game. This was one of them.
I do NOT expect to win every game every year. Is not going to happen. I think it is going to be pretty difficult for anyone to do it going forth.
I am upset that we have picked up so many crazy band wagon fans spouting crazy stuff and death threats.

I don't understand the death threat crap at all. The players did the best that they could. I might be in the minority, but this is on the coach. We just struggle against up tempo teams. This might be a blessing that we aren't going to play mizzou.

Don't know if I would put it all on Saban. You had a false start on a field goal that cost Bama 3 points. Had a holding call that took back a first down inside the 20. After both of those plays, Bama missed a field goal. If Bama executes on those play, they win. On Auburn's first touchdown a All-American linebacker made a bad read and on Auburn's last TD pass, a CB left his man wide open. Saban can only call the plays, he can't execute them for the players.

Absolutely. Do I appreciate him? Absolutey. Should he (and his wife) be grateful for the privilege of being Alabama's football coach? Hell yes. And don't ever, EVER, make a comment like that to the media again. Period.

It seems that CNS always has his team ready for LSU, but we didn't seems prepared at all for AU. In the biggest game in his time coaching here and this is the best game plan he could come up with? I don't know why we even spent a millisecond looking at Chattanooga when AU was coming up. It's not even that we were surprised, we just were outcoached and outmanned.

As a Bama fan, I'm beginning to hate November :/

I'm not sure how much of the blame can be placed on him - he for sure didn't seem too focused or intense in the interviews. Maybe it's the grand kid on the way, the Texas rumors, or his way of saying "FU" for all the empty seats (and if so, that's pretty shitty, as a man). Some of the play calls were boneheaded, but that's nothing new. The officiating was bad, but that's nothing new.

Fact is that the players didn't execute on offense, they didn't take care of assignments on defense (and there was some crappy tackling at key moments). Auburn hitting on most all cylinders had a good bit to do with them winning, too.

On the other hand, it is peculiar that we don't seem to be able to ever defend the spread/option. Even Georgia Southern moved the ball on us a couple years ago.

Did anyone listen to hey coach on Wednesday? The way he ended it was really peculiar. He talked about how there is nothing more that Bama fans would like to see then for AU to be beat down, but the most important thing is the process. It's almost like he knew that we may not win this game.

The process damn sure better include fixing a mid-to-long distance FG kicking team that has been a cluster frick for the last three years.

I'm on my way with a briefcase full of cash to find the best kicker in the country. REC will do work.

Seriously though I can't fathom how these schools like Tulane can find good kickers and we were the defending national champs and we couldn't buy a good kicker

People are imperfect and its a helluva lot easier to make decisions when you already can see the outcome.
All that we should take away from this loss is how extrodinary the long series of victories we have enjoyed recently truly are.
If it were as easy as always making the right call someone would already be doing it.

Everybody be sure and thank Ms Terry for yesterday. It was a really good game, we just came up a little short.

Don't ever make a comment like that again? Or what? You gonna turn on him? Alabama needs Nick Saban much more than Nick Saban needs Alabama.

Also, I LOVE the questioning of gameplan and preparation when in reality......if WR's execute, that game isn't even close in the 4th qtr and the EXACT same gameplan is being lauded as another masterful piece of the process.

Bottom line, sometimes sh*t happens. You move on, learn from it, and use it to get better. Oh, and you pull for Mizzou also
