LSU seems to have hit on some QB recruits lately. Did you LSU fans expect him to be the QB of the future before yesterday? (yes, I am trying to distract myself from IB)

I was impressed with his release. Its pretty quick. He showed some nice mobility as well. Its now crazy to think that a QB as average as Jordan Jefferson was running the LSU offense for 3 seasons.

Yes, he easily won the backup role in Spring and was cemented in as the QB of the future. He has the ability to run but what they say is most impressive is a high football IQ and quick decision making ability. I like the fact that he can move but isn't a "run first" QB. Cameron is the real difference for us though, amazing what you can do when you have a real offensive coordinator. Good luck today.

Jennings was getting rave reviews from those who watch practice, but 99 yards to win a game in your first real playing time is outstanding. Considering he was missing 2 OL and OBJ makes it even more impressive.

Having said that LM needs to put in some serious work on getting the team up to play lesser opponents. He sucked at that this year.

Bull. I could have thrown that last touchdown. That was a total defensive break down. No way a receiver should be that open with just a few ticks on the clock and LSU needing a TD to win. Pitiful, simply poor D backfield coaching.

High hopes for a solid career for Anthony. That was one drive by a QB Arky did not prepare for. Everyone loves the backup QB then dog his every move when he's the starter. We will miss Mettt's passinng skills and his ability to see over the line since he's like 9 feet tall. AJ brings a different element, one that would have been beneficial in certain games this year. He has a lot of talent, but I hope LSU fans will be patient with his development going forward. That one drive is the extent of meaningful playing time this year. I'm not sure exactly what "QB of the future" really means, but yesterday helped his confidence for sure.

Yeah, we have been excited about him.

Did I think he would come in and execute 99 yard drive for a game winning TD on his first series? No.

But we knew he would be solid.

Pretty sure we have expected him to win six Heismans since September.

He's actually more accurate on the deep stuff than Mett is, but while having a strong arm it isn't as good for the long out routes from the opposite hash type throws Mett could make. We took that for granted and will miss it next year. But with Jennings we can probably be a little more dynamic with the option game and when things break down he can make things happen. He's also pretty developed from the mental side apparently so that shouldn't be an issue. He just needs to improve accuracy on the intermediate stuff (or so I am told) and adjust to the speed of the game.

I would say it means he is envisioned to be the starting QB when our bowl game ends. I think LSU believes this kid should be the starting quarterback for the next couple of years.

I think having a quality coach like CC makes all the difference to a young QB(I know...understatement). He looked confident because he had been well prepared.

Say what you want to about LM, but he is the one that hired CC.

Agreed...But could you have orchestrated a 99 yard drive with under 3 minutes and a go to WR/Center out of the game? Obviously big mistake by Arkansas and a clutch play call after seeing Arkansas DB's jumping on Jarvis all day. However, the fact is he executed in a big spot. If Hutson throws a bomb to a wide open man today I bet your reaction won't be "I could've done that" but more like "MAN WHAT A THROW!! DOGS ON TOP!!"

Yes, Jennings clearly won the back-up QB spot in the Spring. He signed with LSU last December and enrolled in January foregoing his SR Spring semester in High School. He was targeted early on to be Mett's successor. He has shown great leadership since the very first day he enrolled at LSU.

Yes, he was the anointed one after Spring practice (6 heismans). Expected to start next year but there will be stiff competition from Brandon Harris, who has better physical tools IMO but not as cerebral as Jennings appears to be.

Exactly. He is that guy for us. I did not believe that he would be able to pull off that 99.5 yard drive. And yes Arkansas helped him out with broken coverage, but he was moving down the field before that as well. He showed a lot of poise and didn't make a mistake in a very high pressure situation. That's very hard for any Freshman QB with zero meaningful snaps to do. I was very impressed and am very excited about his future. I can't wait to see what he does next year.

And I also hope LSU fans are patient. I don't think hell let us down if we are
