Good responses, and I agree with most. However,
is untrue. Last week against A&M, it was loud on the TV. Really, really loud. Wish I could find a video of it.

A video highlighting the chant won't really give you the evidence you want.
Knowing what is being said and listening for it on a video made solely to show it is very different from watching a game live on TV and being able to distinguish it amidst all the distractions on TV and in many cases in the place you're watching it.
You've never listened to a song and not know the words until someone tells you, and then it becomes so clear what is being said? It's not a foreign concept.

What about at the stadium? Not flaming - honest question. I assume it's pretty clear there?

I could barely tell anyone said anything during the song from the west upper deck, regular lyrics or sttdb. Nobody near our section said anything and the crowd noise in general drowned it out. I heard a small mumbling and knew they were saying it, but there was no way to decipher what was being said just by listening.
Eta I can't stress enough how much I hate that chant and am in no way defending it. It's a small minority of dumb attention whores getting exactly what they want. And it's a shame because the song really does pump up the crowd and team.

Yes, when you know it's coming and post a video highlighting it, you will here it. I bet most wouldn't know he words being said even watching that video. I'm amazed that concept needs to be explained.
And yes, it's trashy to say it. Those few thousand students out of 92k fans don't represent the LSU fanbase, no matter how much you want it to. They certainly don't represent me.

Oh yea, and the student section was only half full today because of the holiday session. But let me tell you what happened today... TGBFTL has not been playing Neck because of the vulgar chants that come with it. Today the Tigers were down and needed a score and they played it and TS rocked from endzone to endzone. STTDB was clearly audible to most in the stadium and even with that they played it again a few minutes later with the same result. I have never seen a band song bring out the spirit in a game like it did today! The players noticed it and picked up a couple of notches and pulled out a victory.

LSU admin has tried to no avail. The only thing that will is if the SEC penalizes the team on the field for this kind of stuff.

Found this crappy video from today, it does sound especially loud.

This pretty much sums up why it is acceptable at LSU. Sure it is trashy and makes us look classless, but we won so its all good......... The administration should be ashamed

It was banned for a while and they brought it back with a plea to students to stop the chant. Obviously, it didn't work.
Other than banning it, which sucks because it really adds to the atmosphere, there really isn't much you can do.
And to the last poster, I'd be interested to know how you know the whole stadium heard it sitting in your one spot, but it was hardly audible from the west upper deck on the south side where I sat for the Aggy game.

So you are saying your administration can't control your band? I find that highly unlikely. It's called giving the masses what they want, regardless if it makes us look like trash.

Again, directly across from the student section on the east side - we did not hear STTDB. Just saying.
I disagree with those who do say it - but it couldn't have been more than a section or two in the student section because we didn't hear it.

Dirty cheers and chants have been around college campuses for 100 years, unfortunately we live in a world full of politically correct vaginas that are offended by someone having to suck a Tiger's dick.
No Tigers were actually pleasured as a result of this chant, which is sad, for the Tiger.

The band isn't out of control. Its students.

Are you really this dumb, or are you going with the old sec rant classic of sounding like a moron in some kind of trolling effort?
The banned it, allowed it back with the hopes the students could grow up, and it failed. It will probably once again be banned. LSU has a history of banning songs when the students add some derogatory chant (like "you suck" with oweo).
What specifically are you struggling with?
