not just tonight , it's all the time . They are on about a 20 point run and he just sits there playing pocket pool.

He might have a brain tumor, maybe he thinks his offense is dynamic and effective.

My favorite is when he does call timeout and we usually make a turnover.

He used one when Duke started the run. Didn't make a difference.

And then we call a TO while we're on a run

I think I have had enough of Grant. We go through MINUTES of non-scoring periods and he can't do anything to change it up. It has been like that his entire tenure. We have no go to scorers, no go to plays. Our game is heavily based on defense, causing turnovers and running the court. If we aren't doing all three at a high rate we're usually losing.
We lost to Auburn last year because we didn't score for like 8 minutes. This guy doesn't even have a clue how to stop it. It isn't even like Duke are unbeatable or we should have even lost to Oklahoma. It is the fact we don't score for such a long period (not to opposition defense but our ineptitude offensively) the game gets out of hand.
He is a very frustrating coach to watch. He doesn't even slow down the oppositions runs with timeouts. He just watches. I don't get him at all.

I love our team defense. Hate the offense. I dunno. I guess it could be worse. I can see us doing well in league play.

We are definitely doing a lot better than I thought we would be. Our defense is fine, offense is just hard to watch.

I don't understand how the offense is still this horrible this far into his tenure.

I watched the first half and that was more then enough. Looks like Jacobs and key had great games off the bench. They were the two high scorers. I can't fathom that out starting PG who is a senior shows lack of development. He had his 3rd foul with plenty of time left in the half and this is when Duke started on their run. Actually they started on the run when he got his second foul and they sat him. He got his 3rd one when he reentered and could not control himself on the fast break.
We are year 5 of a HC and we don't have a back up guard who can run the offense. The number 2 guard was 1 for 4 in FT in the first half. The Swede was not in the stat column for his entire 5 minutes of play. That may have been too long for him to have been in the game. Duke is a good team but they were lead by a true freshmen with 27 points. Does AG need help packing?

We really don't have an offense to speak of. We don't have a starting PG to run an offense because we don't run anything. We run bigs out to set picks for guards who don't shoot the ball well or take it to the rim. These same bigs don't know how to roll to the basket and look for a pass to score. It creates a bunch of wasted motion, time, and energy. If a team is running any kind of zone we are really screwed. Lack of ball movement and only 1 three quality shooter (maybe we got 2 shooters with this Key). Beating most zone defenses involves getting to the high post and a high percentage shot should follow in 0-2 passes. We actually could do that when we had that role player guy Hines in the high post.

Key isn't a bad mid-range shooter, but absolutely terrible at the 3 pt line which is why he doesn't shoot them.

This is very true, but we have Cooper wide-open in the middle of zones and no one passes him the ball there. I remember seeing a livid Grant call a timeout against Oklahoma (I think), and that possession we went inside to Coop and got a wide open Retin lay-up

I haven't seen enough games yet. Still football season.

Yeah I saw Key make a nice mid range jump shot yesterday and fell out of my chair. First one I've seen a Bama player make in 3 years.

Grant will take care of that. He'll be missing put backs in no time.

That was Levi's specialty coming out of HS, and when he attempts them they usually go in. He just doesn't shoot them for some reason.
