Only minor troll:

I was reading an AP story in the local paper today and the reporter made an interesting point, information we all have, but I had never really thought about.

In the article he stated that since 1993 Auburn has had 3 undefeated seasons (pretty amazing really) and within 5 years the coach was fired, Chizic being the most extreme case.

Any thoughts?

Ummm...

Bama has run through a shite ton more coaches than AU since Bear. They were all up and down except Stallings. No team is great forever and every AU coach since 1950 has been pretty successful for multiple years except 1.

I believe Auburn can handle success. I would go so far as the Auburn fan base/Alumni/Ads demand success. Question to you: Going forward, can the Bama faithful handle failure?

Can you provide a link to the AP story you speak of?

It's what makes our fandom so much fun...the ups and downs. The highest of highs and lowest of lows.

I looked on Al.com and on the web site of the paper (which I will not name here) and can't find it. It was just a slow sports day filler piece that was not degrading Auburn at all. It was actually so boring that that one comment was the only thing that caught my attention.

I think this is the answer and perhaps a lesson for coaches thinking of making a drastic philosophical change in the world of limited scholarships recruited for a specific offense.

As was stated before, and I will speak for myself only, I enjoy being one rung down from expecting a NC every year. It makes it so that I can enjoy a good year where we upset a better team and where I can truly savor winning a national championship. I don't expect it, but by God I will never forget the feeling in 2010.

Is that why you've fired them all after 1 bad year?

With the exception of course of Dye, the NCAA fired him.

Maybe you didn't give the 1 a sufficient opportunity to be successful.

I totally agree with this. You really can't enjoy success without some kind of failure and strife.

Before Saban I remember all of the haters saying, "Bama will never be back.."

Truth, that's why so many 'fans' hopped off the bandwagon and hopped right back on once Saban's second year was underway.

Hell no. Auburn can't even handle rain.

ETA: since when does rain hurt running teams?

Punter fumbled the ball, gave LSU a quick TD.

At least we have had 3 undefeated seasons. Tubs was NOT fired, his son is on the team. Should we have kept Buster Brown or Chiz? Should Bama have kept Dubose?

They contributed to the first quarter turnovers.

At that point, it really didn't matter though. Running that insufferable 5 man front, LSU would have scored no matter where they started on the field.
