Just spent a 15 minutes telling me that Clemson has been better than Carolina but has just not played well the last few years.

Also, that the Spurrier Era has been a failure because we have only one the east once.

He is very confident that they win Saturday, also.

I am nervous about the game, but I just don't think they are significantly better than last year...when we dominated them.

Your coworker is a tater!

Anything he tries to tell you should be taken with a grain of salt, considering the intellectual level should be placed on par with special needs turrets people and beneath a woman's opinion.

He is a reasonably intelligent guy, until the subject of Clemson football comes up.

I don't think neither Clemson, nor SC are as good as they were last year. That being said, the main way to beat them is to pick up first downs, grind out the clock on the ground, and don't turn the ball over. Just keep their offense off the field, and they can't beat us with big plays. Simple as that. Last year, we did that perfectly. For more examples of how to beat explosive teams like that, see Stanford/Oregon from this season.

Your coworker is a special kid of idiot if he think the '10 tigers were better than the '10 Gamecocks

You're right.

We've got quite a few things in our favor with regard to a means to that end as well.

1 - The Cock Pit is gonna be sick.

2 - The weather will be on our side.

3 - Our defense has improved greatly as this season has progressed.

4 - We're very healthy right now.

5 - Our OLine is peaking right now - and that is key.

6 - Our DLine is deep enough to keep everyone fresh while chasing Boyd all day ... he's not gonna have a fun day.

7 - It's good having Davis and Wilds both back and healthy for this game ... gives us a chance to be successful controlling the clock, not to mention having Shaw back to full speed as well.

8 - IMHO we have the superior coaching staff.

9 - We're far more tested by fire than they are - we've faced a far more physical schedule.

10 - Perhaps most importantly, our guys expect to win, and that's important. Clemson's back is really to the wall. They do not want to see the thumb and all the pressure is on them if we really stop to think about it. Hopefully our coaches are taking any pressure off of our guys and our guys will be playing loose and having fun.

I asked him if Dabo was in trouble if they lose to us this year and next. He couldn't even answer the question.....

All of my Clemson friends say that he is in trouble if they lose to us against this year. Almost to a man, and I'm talking four guys roughly my age here, they all say the slaughter at home to FSU was bad enough but if he loses to us five years in a row it is time for him to go.

I don't see them letting him go after this loss. If he loses next year though, and doesn't win the division, I think he will then be let go.

Dabo isn't going anywhere if they make the Orange Bowl and unless the ACC title game results in an earth shattering upset they're likely back in Miami. Our game won't make a difference.

No way Dabo is gone, even if they lose to us and lose the Chick Fil A Bowl. I just don't see it....
