I'm an LSU fan through and through but as a college football fan, I'm very excited to watch this game.

As a fan of either school, are you more on the nervous side or more on the confident side?

Honestly, who wins it? What are the advantages held by both teams? O line/ D line? Turnover margin? etc..

What does each team HAVE to do (besides score more points) to win the game?

Does Auburn have the D to stop Bama? Does Auburn have the offense to consistently move the ball on Bama? What are the weaknesses of each team?

Finally, give me a final score prediction.

Good luck to both.

We controlled Murray for 3 qrts before getting bored. That won't happen at the IB, and with AJ (AKA Poor mans Murray)

I'll be nervous on gameday. I think we match up well offensively and defensively, but it's a huge rivalry game on the road, so shite happens.

ETA: Score prediction - Bama 30 AU 24

nope

we're gonna find out.

What are the weaknesses of each team?

Alabama's weakness on offense is fumbling by the RBs. Their weakness on defense is #2 CB.

Auburn's weakness is their lack of a passing game and the middle of their defense.

O line/ D line?

auburn has closed the gap. the olines are asked to do different things, but both have been really successful. OL is probably the closest position comparison in this game. DL for Auburn is much improved this year but Alabama has more quality depth.

Auburn has no chance. I have learned Bama is too stout.

Auburn advantage is they will be home and won't have to limp too far to get in their beds.

I believe that Alabama will be able to stop Auburn's rushing game; we held LSU to 43 yrds, Ole Miss to 46 yrds, and in our worst performance of the year held Miss St to 53 rushing yrds. We'll be looking to force Marshall to beat us with his arm...I know that both teams will be fired-up, but am confident that Bama wins by 14+

To win, Auburn will need one of the following to occur:

1) To be able to run on Bama as they have on other teams. If this happens, Auburn would obviously have a strong shot to win.

2) A very good or great passing performance by Marshall/Johnson, in addition to a successful day on the ground (150-200 yards rushing).

3) Alabama ineptitude, turnovers, confusion, penalties, etc.

4) Auburn special teams greatness plus some portions of the above.

5) A stellar AU defensive performance plus some portions of the above.

The biggest edge of the game is Alabama at LB. I think Alabama should win, but there are enough scenarios for AU that I think Bama fans should be nervous. Auburn fans will be nervous too, of course, but we have less to lose, probably.

I'm either nervously confident or confidently nervous.

Auburn wins, although if the game was decided by bad tattoos bama would win in a landslide.

Auburn's strength = running game.
bama's strength= crappy tats and finiancing trailers with no money down or run defense.

quote:

What does each team HAVE to do (besides score more points) to win the game?

Auburn must run the ball and get more yardage than bama allows.
bama must stop the run.

quote:

Does Auburn have the D to stop Bama?
I'm sure bama watched the tape of the last 12 min of the GA game. I would use GA's offensive strategy for as long as I could. Quick slants killed us.
quote:

Does Auburn have the offense to consistently move the ball on Bama?

I think so, but I'm a homer. GA said they'd stop the run, they didn't. If bama can, it could be a long day. No one really knows if Nick can throw consistently. He threw for more than 300 yds against MS ST, but is that repeatable against bama?
quote:

What are the weaknesses of each team?

Auburn= linebackers, passing game.
bama= their coach is short, their fans and turrible tattoos.

Finally, give me a final score prediction.

Auburn 37 bama 35

Auburn has plenty at stake. And regardless of championship aspirations, it's the Iron Bowl.

I'm not downplaying, this is huge for Auburn. But it won't ruin our season to lose, assuming we do it with some sort of dignity. The upside is huge, the downside is medium.

For Alabama, it represents potential destruction of the status quo. The end of the reign, so to speak. It's going to happen sometime, but you definitely don't want it to happen like this.

It obviously won't really diminish the program, but is one of those 1989, turning of the tide type of things you'd probably want to avoid.
