Even if he was a serious candidate, it would be Gus's 4th job in four years... That would be worse than Tod Graham

They have John Harbaugh as a candidate.

I doubt Texas comes after Malzahn after one year at a big time program.

Malzahn has a lot of connections to Auburn. His daughter goes here, family supposedly loves Auburn and so on and I have to imagine on a financial front that Auburn will match/give a big raise to come close to matching someone's offer.

Texas probably could pull him if they threw in all their chips but I just don't see UT making that big of a bet on a second year coach with one year of BCS HC experience.

I know but Texas has so many advantages. It wouldn't suprise me if he left for Texas if they came calling. It would shock me if they actually came calling though.

That list is funny. Almost as funny as UTk's last year.

It would shock the hell out of me. Even if they offered $5M (which they wouldn't).

Gus turned down a tripling of his OC salary when he was at AU along with many other large pay hikes from other schools. He loves AU, is pretty entrenched here, knows the big money will come at AU over the next few years, and may have the best team in the country next year with all we bring back.

Its still just a fan post by a UT fan who is obsessed with Vince Young. When someone with credit says it, I'll believe it. Plus Brown is safe for another year.

They would really have to strike out on big names to get Gus at this stage in his career.

That is probably some of the most delusional, conceited drivel I have read. The Gumps pale in comparison to the Longhorns it seems.

This is trololo funny. I'm just not sure if it's a real UT fan or a UA fan in disguise. LOL

Gus isn't going anywhere.

My take on Texas: Saban said he is under "special pressure" at Alabama. He also said something like he will not be coaching anywhere else next year. He "retires" after this season citing health concerns or to spend time with family, etc. Texas gives Mack Brown a season to go out on his own terms. Saban is announced as the new HC for the Longhorns 2015 season.

What you said, it's going down. One way or another, I believe he has to go with what is out there. They will be dismantled if they attempt to act innocent.

Saban will retire at Bama, be it this year or 10 years from now. The man is about challenges. He has built a dynasty in the best conference, and strongest division in CFB. He knows Texas will pay more, and that it's a easier road to the NC. Why do it if not against the best?

And Malzahn ain't going anywhere.

Winning a national title at 3 different schools isn't a challenge?

That said. He's not going anywhere.

Good point. But is getting past Oklahoma and TTU a bigger challenge, or getting past LSU, auburn, A&M, etc.?
