We saw Mark Ingram win the Heisman with 5 games less than 100 yards. Now the talking heads are pushing AJ when he has 7 games where he passed for less than 190 yards. His only games where he surpassed that mark were against A&M, COL ST, TN and KY. I could understand those stats if he had 1000 yards rushing. More examples of an ESPN Agenda.

If Pat Sullivan can win the Heisman with his shitty QB stats, then McCarron can too!

There are some great candidates out there. Surprisingly, AJ shouldn't be one of them.

Honestly unbiased here: Just on numbers I can't see how AJ deserves the Heisman this year.

Honestly unbiased here: I agree. I think AJ *may* be the best college qb in the country, but I don't think he has the numbers this year to back that up regardless of why - the fact that we are always winning in the second half has a lot to do with this, but the fact remains the numbers aren't there.

It seems most voters wouldnt agree. When veiwed objectively, SI poses a valid question. Not is he the greatest this year, but is he among the greatest ever?

I suggest you read the Heisman Mission Statement. Based on that the trophy should go to AJ. Unfortunately, voters don't read the criteria.

You could certainly make the argument, but we're talking about the Heisman Trophy.

BC kid should win it, and should have had more hype than he's had. Having said that, AJ should definitely be in NY and that's what the majority of Bama fans think.

The Mission Statement is vague (as all Mission Statements are), so just stop.

I know we are. And here is what its mission statement says:

quote:

The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity.

Nowhere in that line does it say anything about stats.

The purpose of the trophy is to go to the outstanding player who exhibits certain qualities. If you read them they describe AJ Mccarron.

The pursuit of excellence is vague line. It can mean anything from putting up stats to winning practically every football game of your career.

That's the point. It's incredibly vague and non-specific. You could make the argument for every candidate in the country.

Auburn can solve the AJ Heisman debate by shutting that fricker down on Saturday
