Recent data on college football recruits by state. Georgia #4.

Pretty big drop-off from California to Georgia and Florida has over twice as many as Georgia. Still we average 158 recruits per year which is obviously many times more than enough to fill out our roster each season with Georgia players alone if we could just keep them in state.

Not surprising when the three above Georgia have at least twice the population as Georgia.

I forgot where I saw it and I'll have to search for it, but there was an article showing that GA actually produced more "top end" talent (4* & 5*) than CA has recently which is pretty crazy considering the population difference

Only one of the top 7 states doesn't have a university with a national championship in the CMR era.

You mean the states with the higher populations produce more recruits? Wow, who woulda thought?

Actually there a good many states with higher populations like New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, etc. that don't produce as many recruits as Georgia. Georgia probably produces more recruits per capita than any other state.

Seems like not too long ago South Carolina and Mississippi were at the top in that category.

That's right, and I think SC and MS were ahead of GA per capita, also. I would look up the info but I'm too lazy.
