Since we have two tight end commits it seems like the staff isn't sure about two of the top five TE recruits we signed a few years ago....Colin Thompson and Kent Taylor...both should be r/s sophs in 2014.

I have had a hunch that Thompson would develop into an OL eventually because of size and age. I know staff must feel the need to add to numbers if Kent Taylor is main threat since Westbrook is a senior in 2014.

We are in dire need of a very good tight end to keep defenses honest and be able to block down on DE/LBs. The middle is always one of the best places to find an open receiver and wondered if anyone has seen the 2 TE commits play in person?

One is from outside Birmingham, AL and one is from KS. I doubt anyone has seen them live.

The KS kid has a solid offer list. There's not much video on him on the 247 site. He's listed at 6'5" and 235 lbs I believe. He's got a better chance of contributing earlier based on weight alone. In the lone highlight video on 247, he was targeted one time and it was air mailed over his head by a mile. I've never seen a highlight vid that didn't show a single highlight. It was a 7 on 7 type of deal.

The AL kid is listed at 6'5" and 215 lbs according to his 247 profile. If he doesn't gain weight and a lot of it before landing in G'ville then you can't expect much from him in a true TE position. If he did play early it would be as a possession receiver and not on the end of the line. There's only one video highlight of him on the 247 site and it was one play where he caught a TD just in front of the safety.

Cyontai Lewis. As you said, he's really underweight right now but he has a great frame. I think he'll need a year in a college S&C program to fill out properly, but he'll be a good one once he does. I've heard he's a pretty mean basketball player, which speaks towards his athleticism, agility, and hands.

The offer list is more imporatant then then the star ranking most of the time imo. DeAndre Goolsby is his name, saw some highlights of him on youtube. Good blocker, great hands, can make a move or two in the open field, seen him truck a linebacker and safety. I can see why OU recruited him, he would be perfect in that diamond shotgun offense they run. He is ours though!
