Hugo, why would you think we should drop to number 8 and LSU jump to 5? Our losses are to better teams, and we beat you head to head.

2 road losses, and 1 loss at home by 3, all to top 10 teams.

I just moved y'all up after looking closer at the schedule.

An argument could be made that 5-8 could go in any order.

I just think a 3 point home win is more of a push than a win when considering team power rankings but whatever.

On a side note, both Cocks and Dores went down after winning?

2 games this weekend will sort out much going forward
TAMU vs LSU : sorts out offense vs defense issues
Mizzou vs Ole Miss : sorts out east vs west issues

Considering LSU blew out Auburn...

Two losses were very close (1 FG) road losses.

Remember that Auburns loss to you was a road loss and could have easily been a one touchdown game. So if you benefit from winning at home, you can't also benefit from losing on the road.

Rankings of offense and defense should not be considered. Stats are always skewed.

I feel like LSU is a better team than USEe but there is no way you can put them ahead of them.

I think these rankings are about where they should be.

Nope. Y'all score a touchdown in garbage time to make it a two touchdown game.

It's more likely LSU could have hung 49 on Auburn.

I don't think you can necessarily say this. Do LSU's defensive stats match up well with A&M's offense? I agree they have a good defense, but is it the best A&M has seen this season? Not sure there.

And I don't see how 1 game between an east team and a west team sorts out any "east vs west" issues. Did Georgia vs Auburn sort out those issues?

You scored a garbage touchdown when we bobbled a punt.

One garbage touchdown crosses the other out.

You can't have your dick and suck it, too.

My point is LSU took their foot off the gas midway through the 3rd quarter up by 21, the play-by-play reflects this.

Auburn showed spirit trying to fight their way back into the game but it was an LSU beat down from start to finish.

Not really.

LSU has a mediocre defense at best. Johnny will likely have a great day throwing and running.

LSU will be dependent on their offense abusing A&M's worse defense.

Wat?

I'm guessing you mean the one drive which ended in a fake FG? Where you ran the ball 4 times and threw it 4 times? That drive? 2 passes on 2nd down and 2 passes on 3rd down? That's taking your foot off the gas? Going for a fake FG?

Not really. LSU scored 3 TDs off of 2 long Hill runs and a frick-up by the Auburn punter. Outside of those 2 runs, Hill averaged 3.5 ypc (on 23 carries). Congrats on a 3 play "beat-down".

LSU running almost every play with their #3 and #4 running backs.

Can't explain that one, probably should have kicked a FG there but Les gonna Les.

Apparently, it was a gamble we could afford to lose.

Wat?

Blue - 4 attempts
Hillard - 4 attempts
Magee - 3 attempts

Hill - 25 attempts

And on that drive, Hill had 1 carry, Hillard 3.

In fact, in the 3rd quarter, Hill had 6 carries, Hillard had 4. I guess ole Les took his foot off the gas in the 1st quarter too. Hill 6 carries, Magee 3.

Normally I would agree with this, but in our case I don't. Our injuries should have more than negated any kind of home field advantage.

All good points, I'll go back and watch the game.

Miles doesn't go for style points or try to run up the score with a big lead late in the game.

The play calling and personnel usually goes into ultra conservative mode.

It had that feeling late in the Auburn game, you can only see it some in the play-by-play stats.

This is a quasi rival game and it will be in Tiger Stadium. If it was a night game I would say the LSU D shows up in force, even with an afternoon start I have a hunch the Tigers will toughen up from the get go. I picked this as my upset game weeks ago and I still feel it will happen. Sometimes the stats are overridden by the emotion of a single game.

Cocks are done, they have only 2 non conference games left which does not affect either their position in the east, or any team in the west. Tigers have 2 games left and both are games with the teams in the west. Whoever wins those games will affect both the east and the west. As for sorting out issues, Auburn winning helped the west in the polls. Did you not see the national polls this week?

One could also argue the injuries on defense galvanized the team and home field advantage.

We had similar situation last year going into the South Carolina game when we thought our inexperienced offensive line was going to get shredded by Clowney and company coming off a bad road loss to Florida with multiple injuries.

They played one of their best games that night.

One could also argue all of Ole Miss's injuries on defense made it difficult for LSU to prepare for the replacements due to lack of available video footage.

Home field is home field.
