9 games with 3 rotating opponents would be dope. We'd play everybody so often that ua-ut and au-UGA shouldn't have a problem not playing every year.

And like Spurrier said if its that big a deal schedule them as an OOC game

Funny how I don't hear Spurrier making snide comments about it this year.

Why would he bring up something that's already been shot down a few years ago? And how were they snide? God forbid a coach try and discuss a rule change that could potentially help his team.

I'm sure Saban has never tried to express disagreement with any policies or rules, right?

Incorrect.

Didn't he float the idea of you guys dropping Clemson a few years ago? I like Spurrier but don't look to him for scheduling advice.

I would be all for that. Cross divisional rivalries will be like psuedo-OOC games

I'd guess most didn't know this was bait, or who it would be baiting. You're sharper than the average ranter.

He either floated the idea of stopping the series or moving it to the middle of the season early on in his time at USC. Memory is a touch fuzzy but I remember discussing it with some USC folks.

Yes. I think division record is all that should matter and in the event of a tie, the only data used to break a tie should be from divisional games.

Over head to head? Weird.

For a sports purist? Yes. Anything that determines any true playoff position should. And the SECCG should be pure.

Maybe he said something about moving the game but I'm pretty sure he didn't and I know for a fact he didn't say anything about stopping the series.

The game been played for 104 straight years. You've got to be some kind of stupid to think he's suggest that.

Because that turns cross-divisional games into effective non-conference games.

Exactly. That would be good for the SEC.

Strange, I never heard he wanted to cancel the series and he wouldn't have gotten very far with it if he had. This is probably an exaggeration of his "they're not important" approach to the Clemson rivalry....taking down signs and what not.

This. He can complain about it all he wants, but all he had to do was beat Auburn in 2011. I mean, it was so hard to beat them that year that only LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, and Clemson beat them, and all by at least 14 points.

The only thing that should matter is pedigree and which team is the most southerny.

Spurrier's proposal is spot on (only intra-divisional games count toward divisional championships). There are six divisional games each year that would mean 3 home and 3 away games. Would ensure all the golfers are playing the same course.
