I'd edit that. Someone will RA. Pretty sure others have been banned for such a tasteless idiotic attempt at humor.

For the record, I didn't come here to tell Bates to frick off. I came ere to say I was thinking about these 12 and to also say what everybody already knows, that the memorial to these 12 is incredible.

This is the pic of Kerlee. He is talking to the workers telling them he is fine and to help others. They only pulled him out when they convinced him they needed to move the logs he was on in order to get to other people (they got to 5 others first). If you notice his lower body is contorted even though he is sitting up. When they took him into surgery and opened him up there was nothing they could do. Image Link

Kid was 17 years old and was an academic Sophomore. Came to A&M from Tennessee in spite of having no ties to A&M because he had heard of the Corps and Bonfire. He was fanatical in his love for A&M even though he had only been there 3 months. Spent his last moments thanking the Drs for doing all they could and saying he was happy to go on to a better place.

Some amazing kids died that day.

WOW!! I remember the accident but didn't know about his particular story. You can't help but admire that kind of selflessness and courage. BTW, why weren't they able to save him? Was he basically for lack of a better term "cut in half" or "disemboweled" by the stack?

Mizzou1 and Bates:

Hopefully you will remember your comments for the rest of your lives.

Hope you both have a good day. I am praying for you both to gain a conscience.

His pelvis was crushed, Govt Tide.
Once they removed the logs ....
Let's just say they were able to keep him alive until his family arrived from Tennessee.
They were all special kids (as are the dozens who were severely injured); but Tim was our 12th Man.

I remember that day very well. Was in law school at UT-Austin but there are a lot of Aggies there (in fact there's an Aggie Law Students Society) and remember us rushing up to the ones in our group asking if they were OK. It was terrible.

I was also a law clerk in the Governor's office the following spring and it so happened one of the projects I got to work on was the issue of whether or not there would be a waiver of sovereign immunity issued to allow the university to be sued by the families of the victims. That ultimately did not happen but I think it wasn't until 2007 or so that courts finally confirmed A&M's immunity.

There are some things that are ok to troll, poke fun at, and rustle some jimmies over, and there are things that are off-limits and you should realize should be treated in a respectful way. If you can't determine that line of discretion Bates, you really need to do some soul-searching and gain a better perspective on the world. It's not honestly worth the time of anyone to cuss you out and tell you how much of an idiot you are for what you said, it's just truly sad that you need to get your kicks and giggles at the cost of 12 lives.

Jesus titty fricking Christ just stop. I've almost had it up to here with the real dispshit Mizzou fan element on here. They are the minority but you guys make our fanbase look like classless clowns sometimes and this is kinda the apex. I swear I don't know where the frick these fans are coming from. I realize we have a meth problem in parts of Missouri but I've never been exposed to it up close, but perhaps this is an example. Apologies, Aggies, most Mizzou fans are not clueless dicks. This is a serious matter about people having died and a university that had to cope with tragedy and we recognize it as such.

I'm not trying to be morbid or belabor the point but I've heard of people surviving car accidents with a crushed pelvis. I'm assuming he had catastrophic injuries to his internal organs and he bled out once removed from his position. Kind of the same concept of how removing a knife can actually make blood loss worse. I know it really doesn't matter but it makes his death even more heartbreaking considering for all he and his rescuers knew he was found alive and was going to make it.

Thanks, Mizzou.
But it's not necessary to own another's actions/words.
We're very aware of the quality/caliber of your fans & school.
