42 was turning towards the bench signaling our ball. Did his non chalance towards the loose ball bother anyone. I was screaming at the TV for him to stop his BS and go fight for the ball. Did anyone else also yell at the tube when 6 had the INT deep in the end zone and chose to run it out.

I didn't mind running the interception out. I can't see what he sees on the field. There could have been an open lane and if he'd made it all the way for 6 no one would question it. It was a judgement call and I trust our defense's judgement.

Not completing the fumble play really ticked me off.

It bothered Saban. He addressed how players were jumping around like we had the ball, instead of actually getting down and making sure. I'm positive a couple of guys will get reamed for that.

I was shocked at the return as well. TV angle didn't show what kind of return he could get on it.

I also thought their TD, shouldn't have been. I figured forward progress was stopped around the 4 or 5 yd line. His back was to the goal line, and he was elevated off the ground. It was clear he wasn't part of any of the movement other than taking a ride wherever the mass went.

Agree on both points. HCD had no way of knowing we would get hit with a BITB penalty. He got the ball out past the 20...better than a touchback. A few guys stopped playing before the whistle on the fumble. Inexcusable. But what was even worse was that their OL pushed the pile forward like a bunch of rag dolls.

his back was to the field of play when he made the INT. and he was close to being out of the back of the end zone when he finally turned around. At that point I did not see any positives of bringing the ball out. On the plus side it did cause an injury to their QB but we also had a block in the back which caused us to start around the 10

I don't care about Hubbard signaling our ball because for all we know he thought a Bama player already had it.

the ball was under the scrum loose when he was doing his signaling. he had no clue who had the ball when he first started that.

I don't know what was going on in his head, and neither do you. It's a road game where things hadn't been going Bama's way, no one knows what he saw/thought except him.

you referring to 42....if so the minute the ball came loose he turned his back to the benbcg away from the scrum as the ball was under their feet. He kept signaling to the Bama sidelines that we had the ball when it was clearly loose. this was before the scrum in the end zone where he continued to wave that it was Bama ball. the entire time several were fighting for the ball. Regardless of what he was thinking at the time he should have been looking for the ball and fighting for it instead of looking towards our bench giving a signal. that was my only point.

Yes, 42, Adrian Hubbard.

Don't take this the wrong way because I may be thinking of someone else, but are you the guy who uses numbers more than names a lot? If so, why? It doesn't bother me, I just know there is like one or two people who do it and it always catches me off guard.

He was signaling that it was our ball the second it was knocked out. Unless he thought one of our players just took it away from Russell, I have no idea why he wasn't trying to recover that ball. Jarrick was doing the same thing and the fricking thing was right at his feet.

i use numbers sometimes when a name escapes me. for the life of me in basketball I want to call number 15 Grant so instead of using a wrong name I will use the number. It wasn't so long ago that I could name every scholarship player and their number on the football team. AS I get older it gets harder to come up with names quickly. I have already told the wife to take me out behind the woodshed and shoot me if full blown dementia sets in.

Collins had it for a second but a giant lineman twice his size took it from him. Maybe if our guys like Hubbard would have helped Collins we recover it.'hopefully that never happens again. We don't need you telling us who has it, you go fight for it and the refs will tell us what we need to know.

That was very frustrating. I have never seen that before. Ball is rolling on the ground and Bama has more guys signaling change of possession than actually trying to recover the damn ball. A lot of boneheaded plays last night.

like their signaling is going to have anything to do with the outcome. I do agree with a poster earlier who said forward progress was stopped at the 4 or 3 yard line and not sure why it was not stopped

I have a feeling that the D will be doing a lot of drills this week to remind/reinforce the idea that when that ball is on the ground all 11 defensive players should be diving on the ground and doing whatever it takes to get the ball. If your mama somehow winds up on the field, you knock her down to get to that ball. You sure as hell don't do what a couple of our players did.

my big screen is only 4 months old and I came close to having to replace it with the bone headed ones doing the change of possession signal while the ball was clearly still loose.
