Not 1 vs 2 but surely capable of being 1 vs a top 5 Auburn (if they win Saturday).

This may be bigger than any LSU/Bama matchup, sorry LSU.

The 06 osu/um game was 2 undefeated teams ranked 1 and 2 with the winner going to the national title.

Sooo...no.

Why this is bigger than LSU vs BAMA

Instate rivalry
Auburn last BCS champion besides Bama in their run
Possible National title implications
Possible SECW championship game
Possible Berth in SEC Championship

Alabama and LSU played for a National Championship in 2011. That trumps any game that has possible National Title implications imo.

And we all know how that game went. No one cared outside the SEC. Alabama didn't belong in that game because they didn't win the conference

Nothing to see here, folks. Just a Miami fan who lost his way and accidentally found the rant. Move along now...

I don't think the game this year will reach the same levels as the recent Bama/LSU games. Auburn hasn't established themselves consistently at the top yet. If both teams keep winning, next year's game could approach that level, but I don't see this year's game doing it. Oregon/Stanford was probably more anticipated than this year's IB.
